Welcome to This Week in #ReFi, KlimaDAO's recap of the most newsworthy events in the #RegenerativeFinance space over the last seven days.

This week has been dominated by a truly seismic development, in the form of a #web3 behemoth's climate-positive pledge. Read on for more! 1/9
On Monday 11 April, the Polygon Network (@0xPolygon) announced a $20 million commitment to going carbon negative in 2022, and climate positive beyond that, using @KlimaDAO's #KlimaInfinity service.

Need a reminder of what Klima Infinity is? It's a suite of tools enabling actors to source, retire, and hold custody over carbon credits natively on the blockchain, transparently and efficiently, and showcase their positive climate impact.

By entering into this 'Smart Contract with Planet Earth', #Polygon is seeking to ensure the chain remains the center of #ReFi and blockchain-enabled climate finance. Congratulations to the Polygon team and the many people in the ReFi space that helped make this happen. 4/9
Elsewhere, KlimaDAO's response to an article criticizing on-chain carbon credits as too accurately mirroring the off-chain market was published by Bloomberg. The original article sparked a vigorous and healthy debate across #ReFi. bloom.bg/3uKQGFL 5/9
Meanwhile, @ToucanProtocol hosted an interesting Twitter Space on last week's #IPCC report and the role of #ReFi, including participants from @gitcoin, @Treeconomyltd, and @regen_network, among others. A recording is available here:

Another must-listen Twitter Space was hosted by @BICOWG (the Blockchain Infra Carbon Offset Working Group) and featured @sy_zygy_ and @rittaaka from @KlimaDao, alongside @danhwang88 of @stakefish and @f2pool_official.

The line-up for the ReFi Summit, to be held in Seattle on May 10th-11th, was confirmed. The event brings many of the most prominent tech and sustainability thought leaders in web3 together for the first time in person. Details are here: refisummit.org 8/9
Finally, Stripe, Alphabet, Shopify, Meta, and McKinsey announced they will be funding Frontier to the tune of nearly $1 billion, accelerating the development of tech aimed at permanent carbon removal—a huge boost to the fight against climate change. bloom.bg/3uMSFcW 9/9
