Some of the girls at this school at the centre of the schools rape culture scandal have experienced sexual harassment and sexual assault. But they are asked to 'assess their white 'cishet' privilege' at a supposed 'anti sexism' forum. #edutwitter telegraph.co.uk/news/2022/04/1…
From the presentation: “there can’t be justice in feminism without brown, black, gay, trans etc feminism”. So brown, black and lesbian girls are the equivalent of males?
Addressing issues such as "men who identify as women being allowed in female changing rooms and children being permitted to change gender at school without parental consent" is framed as "moral panic."
“Girls who might have already had to endure sexual harassment and sexual abuse from boys are then being told that you can’t protest about having males in your space” - local teacher.
A spokesperson said "LGBTQ+ people are more likely to experience child sexual abuse." Really? In an anti-sexism presentation can't the girls just be allowed to think about themselves for once? What about the heightened risk for disabled girls & those with learning difficulties?
“My fundamental concern is that a school so widely criticised for the behaviour of some of the students in terms of sexual harassment and sexual assault should launch an anti-sexism forum that doesn’t deal with those issues whatsoever” - local teacher.
“Why would a school at the centre of the ‘Everyone’s Invited’ scandal concentrate on virtue signalling, such as telling pupils to think about their privilege, rather than seeking to address a culture that has resulted in appalling experiences for their female students?"
“And the misinformation which is being spread about modern feminism is nothing short of irresponsible” - Tanya Carter, @SafeSchools_UK.
It is the school's responsibility to know that the ideas promoted at this 'anti sexism' forum come from the queer & identity politics movement, which centres men and gaslights women. A school that doesn't bother to understand this is failing in its duty to safeguard girls.
"Social media influencers are pushing young people who are unsure about their gender into hasty decisions to transition."
When even top US pro-transition gender docs are speaking out on social contagion there's really no excuse anymore to remain blind. thetimes.co.uk/article/gender…
"Dr Erica Anderson said some young people suffering from mental health problems such as depression and anxiety were not receiving adequate care and were instead being offered hormones or surgery."
"Rather than being transgender, the minors may be “cycling through identities” during adolescence and may be being swayed by influencers on TikTok and YouTube, according to Anderson, who specialises in transgender youths."
*BREAKING* @thecassreview Interim Report has been published.
Grounded in child development, the report says there is a need for a fundamentally different service model more in line with other paediatric provision, and standardised clinical diagnosis. cass.independent-review.uk/publications/i…
The report advises that regional centres should be developed, and existing and future services should
have standardised data collection in order to audit standards and inform understanding of the epidemiology, assessment and treatment of children and young people.
Assessments should be developmentally informed. Clinicians should remain open and explore the patient’s experience and the range of support
and treatment options that may best address their needs, including any specific needs of neurodiverse
children and young people.
Now it's there in black and white. If you believe there are only two sexes you need not apply for senior leadership roles at the Tavistock GIDS.
The ideological capture of the UK's gender clinic for children is clear. How is this appropriate for children?
Expressing interest in applying, Kate Grimes was told: "I have to say that your view on sex being immutable is not a view point that the trust would wish any of their non-executives to hold..
..and as such I would not recommend that you waste time making an application for this — it will be one of the questions I will be asking candidates at first stage interview.”
Important report on NHS pilot gender clinics from @TheEconomist. We are concerned particularly about 17-25 yr-olds accessing these services. "Many doctors are already uncomfortable with the direction of travel, let alone the idea that it should speed up." economist.com/britain/2022/0…
"“The danger is that [this approach] will sideline mental-health expertise and thereby not address co-existing mental health problems that might be worsening the gender dysphoria,” says Lucy Griffin, a psychiatrist in Bristol."
This is a balanced and thoughtful response from @EHRC which emphasises safeguarding and protection of children and young people with gender dysphoria.
Thank you to the EHRC for listening to all our concerns.
Significant quotes below in the thread:
“Nor does the consultation address the possible need to consider a differentiated approach in relation to sexual orientation and being transgender..
..so as to ensure, in particular, that clinicians and therapists are not prohibited from providing appropriate care and support for individuals with gender dysphoria."
"We are deeply concerned that the Government’s recent proposals could criminalise legitimate therapies for children who are suffering from gender dysphoria."
30 MPs write to the PM on the risks of the proposed conversion therapy bill.
"We do not see how this is compatible with an intention to “deliver a ban as quickly as possible”, with a “draft bill for spring 2022”."
"We should be listening and learning from each other as we legislate in this sensitive area, not rushing things onto the statute books without debate."
