The review of adult gender dysphoria clinics in England will

"determine whether the operation and delivery of the GDC’s meets the requirements set out in the non-surgical interventions service specification."

The answer is yes, unfortunately.

🧵
england.nhs.uk/long-read/term… The current service spec is based on WPATH. Psychological treatment is not routinely offered and is not mandatory.
Significant medical or mental health conditions are not a barrier to irreversible hormones or surgery as long as those conditions are 'reasonably well-controlled.'

Will 'lessons be learned' after the latest appalling child abuse scandal?

CofE schools guidance does not give us confidence that @churchofengland understands basic safeguarding.

No child has the responsibility to make any adult man feel 'safe.'

churchofengland.org/about/educatio… The guidance says:
"Additionally, there are transgender adults amongst the adults (e.g. staff or parents/ carers) within our school communities."

"It is important that pupils are challenged if they use discriminatory language towards the adults in their community."

The Charity Commission says "the Commission can confirm that references to puberty blockers and reversibility have been removed from the charity’s website."

It's still there on the charity's Families page, Mermaids has just found a different way to say it: Image "Charity law requires that the information provided by education charities, or those with an object to advance education, is accurate, evidence based and balanced."

Clearly Mermaids' information for families is not.

Stephanie Davies-Arai, founder of Transgender Trend, told the Mail: 'Jolyon Maugham's comment... is highly irresponsible. Yet sadly this kind of claim is widely used by trans activists who assert that blockers are 'life saving'.'

Full quote contd below:

dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1… 'There is in fact no evidence that blockers have any positive effect on mental health, as shown by the Cass Review. What is harmful for children is to be repeatedly told that if they don't get what they want they will die.

New study shows 95% of young women on testosterone developed pelvic floor dysfunction.

Participants, youngest 18, average age 28, had bladder and bowel symptoms that medics would expect to see in a woman after the menopause.

What did medics expect?

telegraph.co.uk/news/2024/05/2… "Around 87 per cent of the participants had urinary symptoms such as incontinence, frequent toilet visits and bed-wetting, while 74 per cent had bowel issues including constipation or being unable to hold stools or wind in. Some 53 per cent suffered from sexual dysfunction."

Stonewall now claims to have always supported calls for evidence-based medicine.

But in 2018 Stonewall did everything they could to prevent our evidence-based schools pack going into schools.

Stonewall branded it "dangerous" and "deeply damaging."

thetimes.co.uk/article/fe117e… This is the full story of how Stonewall tried everything they could to silence us, with defamation and lies that people believed because Stonewall was a respected authority (at the time).

"Regrettably, I believe there is a straight line between the BBC’s capitulation to extreme trans rights ideologues and the disturbing findings in Dr Hilary Cass’s 388-page report."

We agree. Particularly in the relentless propaganda towards children.

Important new study on the impact of blockers on IQ.

"Critical questions remain unanswered regarding the nature, extent and permanence of any arrested development of cognitive function that may be associated with pharmacological blocking of puberty."

authorea.com/users/713322/a… "puberty is characterised by both regressive and progressive stages of brain development. Unlike earlier developmental milestones, many of these processes are associated with pubertal stage rather than chronological age and hormonal regulation plays an important part in these developments."

Gillian Keegan says 16-17 yr-olds should be able to "change their pronouns" with parental consent,
because "people have the right to their own identity" and "at 18 you can do what you want."
Hardly reassuring for parents.
Let's unpick this.
1/
telegraph.co.uk/politics/2023/… 2/ We hear a lot of obfuscating language that obscures the reality, but "changing your pronouns" takes the biscuit. Is that all the teenage girl is doing as she books her double mastectomy? "I'm just changing my pronouns mum, chill!" She'll be 18 by then so it doesn't matter.

Chief exec of @nhscon says there would be "extremely few circumstances" where a woman would be justified in wanting to know the sex of her carer.
What a surprise. The "expert body" involved in this guidance is LGBT Foundation, who can't define 'woman.'
1/
dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1… 2/ "Trans women are women, and can & should access the women’s spaces that they need" says LGBT Foundation.
But. Women's spaces "need protecting from people who want to create divides among women."

This is a serious failure of duty.
The body that should oversee the care of looked-after children in Scotland has issued a trans policy that will put these vulnerable children in danger of harm.
#SafeguardingFail
careinspectorate.com/images/documen… Children in care were over-represented at GIDS. Looked-after children suffer above average mental health issues, bereavement, sexual and emotional abuse. But @CareInspect ignores the Cass Review's call for caution in diagnosing these children as 'trans.'

LGBTQ+ activist teachers talk about safeguarding but have zero understanding of what it means.
This teacher from the Oasis MAT thinks safeguarding is all about challenging the behaviour of non LGBTQ+ pupils and issuing sanctions. 1/
#edutwitter
schoolsweek.co.uk/solutions-a-wh… She says "It is non-negotiable that safeguarding provision is available to all, in a way that best meets the needs of the individual."
No, that's not safeguarding.
Safeguarding is a range of legal requirements to keep all children safe, mentally & physically. 2/

“The drive to undermine sex based data collection is fundamentally a form of silencing which is designed to make certain facts unknowable and unspeakable.”
- @ProfAliceS.

This point was the basis of the submission we made to the @EHRC statutory review, regarding children.
1/ For example: by collecting data based on gender identity, not sex, the Stonewall School Report 2017 covered up the scale of suicide attempts and self-harm rates of girls.

"The regional centres should be experienced providers of tertiary paediatric care to ensure a focus
on child health and development, with strong links to mental health services."
cass.independent-review.uk/wp-content/upl… "The centres should have an appropriate multi-professional workforce to enable them to manage
the holistic needs of this population"

"There should also be expertise in safeguarding, support of looked-after children and children who have experienced trauma."
