Sadly we lost the vote to ban donations from “non-doms”. I accused Boris Johnson’s Government of seeking to raise £millions for their party from people avoiding £millions in tax. Vote lost 209 to 169. Conservatives have been desperately whipping in @UKHouseofLords today.

It cannot be right that a Prime Minister can grant high levels of access to a business seeking government support, and then potentially offer him over £20million in shares when he leaves office and presses his friends and colleagues to help the business. theguardian.com/politics/2021/…
