A quick thread of all things DC Film show at #CinemaCon 2022
First, general consensus of mine: was a solid presentation. The dual release doesn't rub well with the exibitors and they need desperatly need to get their trust back. Lots of investiment to say without saying that there is no way to go back to the dual release model. #CinemaCon
Now: #TheBatman got a sequel!!! Again, the point is to please the exibitors. Reeves was early today saying the importance of the movie was exibit first at the Cinemas, and this is the first major hit of WB post-pandemic. Everybody is happy, from all sides. #CinemaCon
But from the sequel itself: i think #TheBatman is a good movie overall, but not a excepcional Batman movie. I want Matt Reeves stop playing safe and gone wild with the future of the franchise. Also, i'm very excited for the Penguin MAX series. #CinemaCon
About the cursed movie aka #TheFlash: the consensus was this was more a trailer of a Batman movie with Flash than a Flash movie. And a lot of what they show confirm the leaks, which again, proves this movie is beyond any salvation. Enjoyed the final joke, tho. #CinemaCon
@ComicBook Quick thing: the event confirmed this #BlueBeetle logo is for real. I loved the 'Miami Vice/Fresh Prince' vibes. #CinemaCon
@ComicBook Now: #ShazamFuryofTheGods! I loved the first movie and i'm a big fan of @ponysmasher and the movie looks will be bigger & cooler than the first one. Hope the horror elements stay hidden until the movie release, like the first one brillhantly did. Plus: F&F jokes? WIN #CinemaCon
The cast was present on the stage, which aways is a good surprise. Sadly no photos with The Rock (keep following to know why). Footage description here: comicbook.com/dc/news/shazam…#CinemaCon
The Rock, as the showman he is, pretend he was on record on Hawaii before do a surprised appearence on the stage, introducing the movies which he star/produced: DC Super Pets and Black Adam. #Cinemacon
I am already sold on #DCSuperPets for a long time and i believe this movie is gonna be a trully delight to watch. The footage show a lot of stuff which i believe is from the 1st act of the movie slashfilm.com/844758/dc-leag…#CinemaCon
Now #BlackAdam!!! Which i am insanely excited to have good, proper JSA adaptation in live action outside the 'Snake In a Hat' hands. The Rock brought Noah Centineo and Quintessa Swindellto the stage. #CinemaCon
The footage was very action packed and show The Rock have powers, no guilt, and is ready to FUCK THEM UP. Also, the push to highlight JSA also pleases me, A LOT. Footage descrition here: comicbook.com/dc/news/black-…#CinemaCon
Almost forgot #AquamanAndTheLostKingdom!!! Part of the 2023 push, was nice see James Wan back on stage and talking about the movie. he aways show passion on every stage involved. #CinemaCon
The fact is inspired by 'Planet of Vampires' hypes me up A LOT, but the footage show there reveal the movie will be heavily inspired by several different New 52 stories, like The Others and Death of a King. #CinemaCon
But somehow, Wan is promissing a bigger movie than the first, that was already HUGE and have done soo much. I heard some people saying there was giant robots in this as well. Description here comicbook.com/dc/news/aquama…#CinemaCon
And for today we close!!! #CinemaCon continues tomorrow, the the current DC Film slate is (click for enhance):
As i promise (and after a long time) I’ll finally talk in details about #TheBatman, what I think about things and besides been a solid movie, isn’t necessary a relevant one as a Batman adaptation. With that said... lets start.
I can say that watching #TheBatman was a… strange experience. Not just my reaction to the result, but also the nature of how the project was started.
Originally a film in the almost-dead DCEU with Ben Affleck, until Matt Reeves realized the trap that Geoff Johns (at the time Chief Creative Officer) wanted to put him on, and fought to make his film belong in a closed universe. #TheBatman
I know the question of the day: who the hell is Bruna Marquezine, the brazilian actress what joined #BlueBeetle? A quick thread (i hope)
First of all, expect A LOT of brazilian references on this post, because she is brazilian. She will probably speak spanish on the film, but in Brazil, Portuguese is our mother tongue, so generalize like Hollywood will do with her in #BlueBeetle.
Don't generalize*, dammit
Well, lets move. Born in Duke of Caxias (Rio de Janeiro, what isn't Brazil capitol), her first major role was at Brazilian Soap opera 'Women In Love' (Mulheres Apaixonadas), when she was just 8 years old and her performance was well praised. #BlueBeetle
Yes, i had promise, and now i'll talk about the delightful #CatwomanHunted! This is a genuine fun and well made movie, and i really hope Warner invest more in animes like this.
#CatwomanHunted starts in a very inspired opening scene stabilishing important info for all the story, with Catwoman freeing woman to be sold as slaves from Leviathan (YES, that one). [+]
Later, we see Selina trying to steal a jem which owner is Barbara Minerva, which here is also the (supposely) head of the Leviathan. #CatwomanHunted
Hi! This thread is called "Comics to read before #TheBatman what isn't 'Ego', Year One' and 'The long Halloween'! Doesn't need futher explanations than that, so lets start this party!
