Below is a rough reconstruction of a Chinese podcast I listened to commenting on #Ukraine and #SolomonIslands

"For many countries, sovereignty is a luxury. There are many countries in the world that are very willing to have an extraterritorial power to take care of
their affairs, and for that they are willing to give away a lot of benefits and provide a lot of facilities, because in their view, if someone can provide them with a stable regional order, reliable economic opportunities, and be a protector to complain to in case of injustice,
then they are willing to pay back in exchange. The reason is simple: sovereignty is a luxury that most countries can't afford.
For such countries, outsourcing sovereignty in exchange for more realistic benefits (such as security guarantee and economic opportunities)
is the more realistic option, or rather, the only option for survival.
Chinese people's uncompromising pursuit for sovereignty, even taking it for granted as the basic right of a country, is an unattainable luxury in the eyes of the majority of countries in the world,
because there are not many countries like China that have the ability to uphold sovereignty. The biggest achievement of the CPC is that they achieved whole sovereignty for China. Today in China, the worst crime is selling out the interest of the nation to a foreign power,
but for most countries in the world, it is the worst crime not to "sell out", and for the leaders of small countries, selling sovereignty to the highest bidder in the best interest of the country [unlike Ukraine selling itself into total war and poverty] is the most
advisable way to be loyal to the country and responsible to the people [best example: Singapore].

Letting these countries pursue sovereignty and independence is equivalent to kicking a three- or four-year-old child out of the house and letting him stand on his own.
You are not doing it for his own good, you are killing him. The reality is that the majority of countries are propped up financially, economically, militarily, politically by another country and are thus dependent thereupon.

Why does the United States have so many allies?
Why does the United States have so many lap dogs? You can morally criticize these countries as "puppets", "satellite states", "vassal states", but this cannot solve any practical problems. No matter how bad or immoral the United States is, at least it provides an illusory order
and some real or imagined benefits. Public goods do not mean this set of public products is good, but the sad reality is that for a long time, countries have no choice at all. US/western bloc are the only game in town. Choose the US/West or face destruction.
However, due to lack of alternative and competition, the quality of the commodity the US provides is poor. Instead of providing peace and prosperity, the US is doing the opposite, plunging countries into war chaos and poverty. Solomon Islands turned to China for help precisely
because of the violent riots instigated by the US aiming at a regime change.

China and Russia are criticizing this pitiful state of world order. Hollow criticism is useless. How about China propose another much better set of public goods to enable countries to choose from?
There are many, many countries that very much want to accept the public goods provided by China. China has a powerful military and economy, well positioned to bring stability and prosperity, albeit moderate prosperity to countries.

If countries can only rely on the US, is
it any surprising if they choose to side with the US against China?
In order to bring about a better world, China must shoulder its responsibility to provide better alternatives. Against the riots, regime changes, color revolutions engineered by the US in the name of democracy,
China can provide the alternative of stability and economic development, and China usually delivers the goods.

When riots happened in Solomon Islands targeting Chinese businesses, Solomon openly and directly appealed to China for help. Solomon is confident China is willing
and able to protect them.

For years, China's foreign policy is neutrality and non interference. This is about to change. The more China abstains from interfering, the more countries will turn to the US, the more countries will become hostile to China and the more ethnic
Chinese will be targeted. Non interference only breeds a vicious circle.

China shouldn't be ashamed to benefit from the intervention, there's nothing to be ashamed of, as long as you provide public goods, you deserve it.

There's a funny video about the US foreign policy.
The general content is as follows: Several Africans surrounded a US ambassador, one of the Africans said "Mr. Ambassador, terrorist attacks are happening here every day" The US ambassador replied "Oh, it's unfortunate"
Another said "warlords and bandits are pillaging villages every day"
The US ambassador replied "It's sad, but the US military is so spread out that we can't interfere anymore"
The two Africans looked at each other and then said: "We need your help to protect our abundant
but fragile newly discovered oil resources." As soon as the words came out, the U.S. ambassador jumped up "You said oil? Wait a minute" and pulled out a walkie-talkie and spoke into it "Operation Golden Eagle begins"

US jet fighters and helicopters immediately arrived
and filled up the sky. The American ambassador shook hands with the two Africans "Welcome to democracy!"

The original intent of the video was to satirize the fact that the U.S. has always fought wars over oil, like the French chef's joke, "You put so much
oil in this dish that it will attract an U.S. military attack".

However, in reality, if the U.S. military can really eliminate warlords and bandits, eradicate terrorism, restore regional order, then the U.S. is perfectly entitled to get some oil as a reward.
The country is paying for a precious service only a military power can provide.

However, the reality is that the United States is currently the world's largest exporter of terrorism. Various terrorist organizations have become US military mercenaries doing the dirty job,
killing and overthrowing governments on behalf of the US. The US are not delivering the goods. The satirical video is actually a glorification of the US who are allegedly maintaining order and justice for the sake of oil. In reality, US loots the oil without ensuring stability.
The gradual disintegration of the world order in recent decades is due to the fact that the US, the world police is not doing the job of upholding peace stability and justice. US has become the criminal it has vowed to pursue and eliminate.
US is indulging in mass killing and mass looting [financial]. When the sheriff in town is the biggest criminal masterminding all the criminals, the town is in grave trouble.

US has become the world's biggest problem, the biggest terrorist organization,
the source of all major wars and injustices in the world. US has wrecked numerous countries: Ukraine, Haiti, Afghanistan, Libia, Yemen, Iraq....

The forces of the universe see to it that China has become a competing super power.
I hope that China will take the initiative to assume its historical responsibility and grasp the true meaning of the title "responsible power".

#SolomonIslands

Answer to the question of the New Zealand prime minister.
Australia and New Zealand had similar security cooperation agreement with Solomon Islands,
why does Solomon Islands need another security pact with China?
When Australia came to Solomon's help to deal with the riots in 2021, Australia's intervention was selective. The scope of protection was limited to non-Chinese businesses. Looters could continue to assault the Chinese businesses and were let go.
Bearing in mind that the riots took place in a "Chinese" street, and mainly Chinese businesses were targeted, the purpose of Australia's intervention was pretty much to make sure the criminals could get away safe and sound.
In these circumstances,

Some background for the security pact between China and the #SolomonIslands which has given trauma and elicited PTSD from the Anglo-Saxons and Japanese.

Solomon Islands, a South Pacific island nation with a land area of only 28,400km², a population of 720,000
and a GDP of $1.55 billion, is one of the world's least developed countries. The country is divided into 9 provinces, with more than 990 islands. More than 90% of the population lives on agriculture and fishing, and relies heavily on imports for manufactured
and petroleum products.
Timber is an important industry and the most important source of foreign currency generation in Solomon Islands, accounting for 55% of export earnings. The Islands are resource rich, abundant in tuna fish, lead, zinc, nickel, gold and other mineral

Understand Putin's war on terrorism and understand Russians' support for Putin for this war

Terrorists are the foreign legion of the US. Both China and Russia have been targeted by US/Nato backed terrorists who had been able to wreak havoc in both countries for many years
until Xi Jinping and Putin took power who exterminated domestic terrorism, to the great frustration of the US/Nato.

One can say today's war is the continuation of Putin's anti-terrorism war. Azov battalion are super terrorists inspired by an ideology delighting in the
killing of ethnic Russians. As Putin said in his speech, Russia's repeated compromises and lack of will power have only brought one tragedy after another upon the country in the past.

On June 14, 1995, the world was shocked by the "Bujonovsk Terror" in Russia.

US hypocrisy and double standard exemplified. Compare the US position on military alliance regarding #Ukraine and the #SolomonIslands

US State Department spokesman Ned Price: The key point is that there are principles that are at stake here that have universal applicability
everywhere, whether in Europe, whether in the Indo-Pacific, anywhere in between. And those are the core principles that President Putin has sought to violate and flout and that our Ukrainian partners, backed by the international community, have sought to defend -
the principle that each and every country has a sovereign right to determine its own foreign policy, has a sovereign right to determine for itself with whom it will choose to associate in terms of its alliances, its partnerships, and what orientation it wishes to direct its gaze.

#Ukraine: a divided country

This war is a continuation of a civil war between western Ukraine and eastern Ukraine which started in 2014 further to the coup organized by the US. Apart from the extremists, the Neonazis weaponized by the US to engineer a war with Russia,
2/Ukraine, as a country, is divided.

For centuries Ukraine had been governed by powers around it. As a result, Ukraine almost never had any no nobility, landowners, merchants or intellectuals of its own, and the very few Ukrainian political and cultural
3/elites were highly Russified and did not even speak Ukrainian.
Until the 1920s, almost all commercial, administrative, and legal professionals in Ukrainian cities were Germans and Jews, the vast majority of factory workers were Russians, and landowners were mainly Poles,

The inseparable ties of Russia and Ukraine throughout history

Putin has given a televised speech that devoted a great deal of space to the history of Russia and Ukraine as a way to justify the special military operation.
What Putin meant, in plain English, was that
2/A. Ukraine is not simply a neighboring country of Russia, but also an inseparable part of Russia's history and culture; Russia and Ukraine are originally one family, and they are inextricably linked by blood and history.
B. Ukraine has never been an independent nation,
3/but the mistakes of Lenin & Soviet Russia in the early years created an artificial "Ukraine", which carved out part of the Russian land and people.

Whether Putin's account of history justifies Russia's current action is debatable, but his two core messages are largely factual.
