Katsuki and Izuku married young thinking with the both of them together, there's nothing that could ever go wrong.

Yet, ten years later, tears were spilled and rings were thrown as words they didn't mean flew out their mouths.

How do you know it's time for something to end? No, better yet, how do you end it?

That's probably the more appropriate question Izuku needs to ask because maybe, at the back of his mind, he knew there was no more reason to stay. He just... didn't have the courage to leave.

"Let's get a divorce, Kacchan." He sobbed into his hands, his body crumbling down right on the hallway of the hospital. "Being with you... god, being with you doesn't even make me happy anymore. Being with you feels so forced and miserable," he said in between his gasps.

He didn't care about the looks the nurses and civilians were giving them. He didn't mind having them hear everything he was saying. He didn't have the energy.

Right then and there, all he wanted was for it to end.

The anger, the pain, the way the muscles of his throat would clench and suffocate him so he gasps for air over and over. Like he was drowning.. drowning and drowning and every time he sees Katsuki's face, the deeper the water gets. The harder it gets. The more painful it becomes.

And he wonders how he dealt with this pain. How he managed to be alright after everything he's gone through. Was this more painful? Or he just had enough of the misery?

"W-What? Divorce?" Katsuki voice was rough from unshed tears when he replied.

He didn't bother looking up.

He stayed sprawled on the floor tearing himself apart with his loud cries and sobs as he nodded his head.

"You want a divorce?! So, what, you're fucking done?! You're done and you're doing this right now, ha, Deku?!"

It didn't escape him how Katsuki's voice cracked or how he saw a glimpse of the blond's hands clenching into a fist but he said nothing.

He didn't have anything to say.

When he had the words he wanted to tell Katsuki, his husband, the love of his life― he didn't have time to listen.

Katsuki was so busy proving himself to the world that he forgot he had a husband. That he had someone who loves him and worries for him.

That he had a damn family he needed to go home to.

And Izuku won't live for years reminding him of the things he shouldn't have to. It's Katsuki's job to remember, not his.

"Kacchan, you make me feel so unhappy and miserable―"

"F-Fine then! Fine! Let's get a divorce! You fucking suffocate me anyway! You think you're hot shit because you're number one and I'm what? Number two! Well, fuck you! I try harder than you do and you're only here not because you worked hard for it."

"It's because All Might was dumb enough to give you One For All!"

Silence.

It wasn't just him who quieted. It was Katsuki and everyone listening to them break each other apart.

He felt... numb. He couldn't believe Katsuki― the person who saw him struggle and give up his whole life just to be the hero he was― would say something like that.

Well, he wished he didn't look up to see Katsuki's face. There was no regret. There was nothing but anger swirling inside those red eyes.

Izuku didn't see the regret he expected. Not at all.

"Ha," he huffed in disbelief.

Almost a laugh, even, as he pulled himself back up without breaking eye contact. "You're stooping this low, Kacchan? You're stooping this fucking low just to hurt me?" he asked and when Katsuki just looked away, he laughed. "Wow, you really have a knack for disappointing me."

Even if he didn't mean that, it was too late to take it back. Not that he had half the mind to care about the flash of hurt that passed Katsuki's face. He didn't.

He was too enraged that the next thing that rolled out of his lips put the final nail in the coffin.

"You're my biggest regret and disappointment, Kacchan." He poked the blond's chest as he glared up at him, "And I wish I knew better than to marry you."
