Thread for taking help of metaphors of Palaces to improve our life.

1) I am King of my own Kingdom. I have many palaces in which I live.

The First Palace is called "Palace of Mind".
2) In my Palace of Mind, I allow only decent thoughts to enter. When a new thought wants enter in this palace, I check it before I allow it enter in this Palace. I check to see whether I really want to allow this thought to enter in my Palace.
3) When I scroll my twitter timeline, I saw many thoughts who want to enter in my mind. They want to enter in my mind through my eyes. But I do not give them entry easily. I have my own criteria about what types of thoughts I want to allow in my Palace of Mind.
4) Then I have another Palace called Palace of Body. A thousand types of food and drinks want to enter in this Palace. But I stop them at door. I ask them why do they want to enter in my Palace? If they give right answer, than only I allow them to enter in my Palace of Body
5/ Then I have another Palace called Palace of Work. As a King, I do not have to work. But if I do not work, then my kingdom will become lazy. So I do work..

And when I want to work, I enter in this Palace of Work.
6/ In Palce of Work, I have a front room. This is called Room of Planning. My every thought about doing work has to pass through this room.

There is a receptionist in this room. She asks me, Why do you want to do this and then she tells me me to say exactly what I want to do
7/ After I pass through the front room, I have to enter in next room which is called "Room of Great Procrastinators".

Here also there is a Receptionist.

She points out to me things which I ought to be doing.

But she cannot force me to do those things because I am the King.
9/ From there I enter in a room called "Operation Theatre". Here I start working. Here I start accomplishing tasks. I loot at time when I start work. I also look at time when I stop work. I feel satisfied on the days when I had worked for more than 4 hours.

#SundayMotivation
10/ Next is a room called "Worrying about the whole world". It contains several electronic gadgets through which I can worry about the whole world. When I am not doing any worthwhile activities, I spend my time in this room. I sometimes feel that this room is addictive.

Thread on "Do Lawyers have conscience? Why they fight cases of criminals and rapists and for the most corrupt parties?

1) In India, lawyers are called Advocates under the Advocates Act.

#lawyers #advocates
2/ One meaning of word "Advocate" is "To speak on behalf of others".

And legal system is designed as "Adversial System".

Two parties are supposed to strongly argue on behalf of their clients and in this contested atmosphere, a Judge is supposed to give a balanced Judgement.
3/ When an advocate is arguing for prosecution, he is not supposed to speak on favourable points for accused.

When advocate is arguing for criminal, he is not supposed to speak in favour of prosecutor.

Thread on Difference between Bhagwad Gita and Art of War.

1) Top Business Class people often treat Art of War as their main book of Inspiration.
2) They belive that in order to become very rich in business, you have to eliminate all your competitors and you alone should be in supplier market, so that you can charge high prices. They seek inspiration of Art of War about how to eliminate competitors from business
3) On the other hand, Bhagwad Gita is more about duty to fight against those who follow paths of Adharm. It emphasises that one has duty fight against one's relatives, teachers and friends also if they stray on path of Adharm.

Thread about Emotional Issues of Men's Rights activists.

1) Most of them compain that there is gender bias in men-women laws. They insist that the men may also be treated equally by courts. They fail to see that if gender bias is there in laws, how judges can go against laws?
2/ Lest us take example of Transfer petitions where a woman seeks transfer of case filed by men in other State.

Here, wording of the provision says that Judge has to see which party is suffering more hardship. The woman are considered weak by physiotherapy. Hence, they succeed
3/ Then take cases of suicide of wife within 7 years of marriage. Whatever may be the reasons, the law presumes that man is guilty, till he proves himself not-guilty in a trial which may take place after 5 years of his arrest. He can get bail, but the process is very very costly.

Thread about how Judges examine a document when a doubt is expressed about genuineness of that document.

1/ The question was about genuineness of a Will.

The man claimed "He was servant of the deceased. All his relatives had left him in his old age.
#lawyers #lawstudents
2/ He was looking after all court cases between deceased and his sons. Being pleased with his service, the old man, before dying, signed one page typed will, in which one property was given to him."

There was doubt about genuineness of this Will.

#lawyers
3/ Judge examined the Will like a Detective.

It was possible that this man may have obtained signature of old man for purpose filing some case and then he may have misused this paper for making Will in his favour.

Judge carefully looked at Will.

Thread on How to seek cooperation of people who are in power, for getting good things done

1/ Suppose your Judges are very bad. Suppose your political leaders are very bad. Suppose IAS and IPS officers are very bad. Suppose all have one or other vices.
2/ And suppose you still need their help for many good things that you desire to get done with their help..

Then hurling stones of criticism at them will not help you. It will only increase acrimony between them and you.
3/ To hurl satire at them will also not help you. They will alienate themselves from you. They will stop listening to you. Then you cannot expect them to listen to you or to help you.

Thread "How to argue in court" - an easy to understand explanation to day to day Court Language.

1) First learn, "What is a Statement and how to make a statement to open an argument in a court.

a) "Defendant is fraud" This is your opinion. This is not

#lawyers #lawstudents
2/ a Statement for purpose of argument.

b) "Defendant has cheated me." This is again, your opinion. This is not a Statement for purpose of argument.

c) "Defendant cheated me of 50 lakh rupees by giving promise of giving a flat". This can do. The Judge

#lawyers #lawstudebt
3/ can understand what is your problem.

Judge can then ask you, "Why do you say so? What is your basis for saying so?"

Now here you are supposed to answer with some evidence (documents or other things) from which it is obvious that you might be speaking truth.
