People think dolphins are friendly because they look like they're smiling, but they're actually some of the most vile, despicable, godless beasts in nature. Image
Imagine the goblins from Goblin Slayer, except they're six to twelve feet long and live in the water. That's a dolphin. Image
Hitler was a dolphin which, by some cosmic disaster, was accidentally reincarnated as a human and given power over a nation. Image
The word "dolphin" comes from ancient Mesopotamian "du'a l'pun", meaning "cruelty without legs". They built ziggurats so their temples would be as high above sea level as possible so as to not be tainted by proximity to such unholy abominations. Image
A dolphin has no reflection in a pure silver mirror because its image is offensive to God. Image
Dolphins were once these loathsome land-dwelling monsters. God told Noah to leave them off the ark, but then Satan granted them the ability to survive in the ocean as an insult to God, and now all dolphins are indebted to the Devil and do his bidding, and they enjoy it. Image
Dolphins defile the corpses of their victims so brutally that their souls become unable to enter the afterlife, and are doomed to roam the Earth as enraged ghosts whose memories are a chaotic patchwork of jumbled images of the moment they were killed by the jaws of a dolphin. Image
Dolphins enjoy pain. That's why they sin so much. They crave the fires of Hell and the orgasmic agony of perdition. Image
Any living thing a dolphin swallows without chewing will not die in its gut, but will instead have its nervous system grafted with that of the dolphin, effectively merging their minds and souls. Thus, their victim will share the sins of the dolphin and be damned with it. Image
While God was sculpting Adam out of clay, Lucifer was sculpting the first dolphin out of the solid waste of angels collected from the sewers of Heaven. But unable to create a soul for it, Lucifer had to steal one and horribly disfigure it to fit his creation. Image
Several world governments have secret plans to mercy kill the entire human species should dolphins ever regain the ability to walk on land. Image
The ancient Greeks believed the souls of the dead needed to pay Charon to ferry them across the river Styx because they couldn't simply swim across since it was full of dolphins. Image
Dolphins reproduce by mitosis, like bacteria. Image
A googolplex years from now, long after the heat death of the universe, random quantum fluctuations will spontaneously give rise to a Boltzmann brain which will immediately be devoured by a dolphin. Image

I barely even remember the original Top Gun, so it's not nostalgia talking when I say Top Gun: Maverick is one of the better movies I've seen this year. Image
While it does have a lot of spectacle, it doesn't rely on it so much as it does on tension and suspense. It's not a CGI clusterfuck where an entire city gets blown up and we're expected to care because we're told the universe is at stake. It's more of a character-driven drama.
Even if you've never seen the original, Top Gun: Maverick does a good job of establishing its protagonist with the first ten minutes. We quickly get the sense that he's a risk-taker who doesn't always obey the rules, but is willing to sacrifice himself for the sake of others.

A story will follow a hero with both internal and external needs. The external need is generally something material; wanting to win the big game, rescue the princess, get rich, and so on. The internal need is more abstract. It's something they need to overcome: a personal flaw.
The external and internal needs are tied together as the pursuit of the external need leads to the fulfillment of the internal need. If the hero must rescue a princess, he will have to overcome a personal flaw to do so, and this overcoming leads to change. This is called an arc.
The hero will learn through trials, failures, and loses what they must do to succeed. Often, they will realize the thing they were pursuing wasn't what they really needed, and this realization prompts a change in their outlook as they learn what's really important to them.

I started watching The Matrix Resurrections and, thirty minutes in, it's already the most up-its-own-ass movie I have ever seen.
So far, The Matrix Resurrections feels like it was tailor-made to appeal to zoomers. That's not a good thing.
Neo has a new romantic rival. He's literally named Chad.

The Wendigo is a mythical creature from the folklore of numerous Native American tribes. None of them describe it as having antlers or being deer-like. That was an invention of the 2001 film Wendigo, and that design was copied by Dungeons and Dragons which popularized it.
It's kind of like how goblins, fairies, and gnomes were all just umbrella terms for any sort of small, humanoid creature from European folklore, and the idea that they're distinct beings with their own traits is largely influenced by the writings of Tolkien and George MacDonald.

They even used the "incels found this" line.
"I need to provide multiple layers of context to skirt around the obvious to keep people from arriving at obvious conclusions, but I can't say that, so I'll just accuse everyone of being too dumb to read."

If your response to having a plot hole pointed out to you is "well, then we wouldn't have a movie", that's a bad argument because it implies there's no way it could have been rewritten to fix it, which is never the case unless the story is fundamentally broken at the premise.
On that note, something not making sense isn't always necessarily a plot hole if you can make the argument that it was intentional.
For example, ED-209 having live ammo during a demonstration in RoboCop doesn't make sense, but the point is went wrong, which is what the plot needed. It could have happened any number of ways, but it happened in the most violent, over-the-top fashion, which fits the theme.
