Seeing some folks out there tout that Otherside Land will have a 10 - 15E floor. I think we should have realistic expectations of price once the initial hype dies down..

Yuga Labs has shown themselves to be excellent at brand building and biz dev, but building a metaverse requires a whole different level of execution capabilities. It's a very tough path to climb.
Companies like the Sandbox have been grinding away at it for years. Yuga is the new player here and has a lot to prove.

Doing valuation calculations of lands based on other metaverses like @TheSandboxGame is probably not the right mental model at this stage
Rather, I think about what someone would pay to be part of the BAYC ecosystem and do relative comparisons.

Mutant apes are at 40E each and get lots of love from Yuga labs in terms of airdrops and free value
It might be too much hopium to believe that Otherside land to sustain a 10 - 15E floor in the short term. There's a huge supply difference:

- MAYC 20k fixed supply
- Otherside land 100k now, 200k later this year, maybe more in the future
For someone who has funds, it would seem better to own a MAYC than 4 Otherside lands (if lands were to go to 10E).

Alternatively, this would imply that MAYC is undervalued and should be at ~60 - 80E (intuitively, no math formula here)
If Otherside lands stay at >10E, it goes counter to the thesis that the demand for lands comes from being a cheaper entry point for people who want into BAYC ecosystem.

Kennel Club is around 9 - 10E.
I think a significant portion of the price right now (7 ETH) includes the expected value of getting a rare land.

So there's probably going to be a post-reveal dip (as with most collections) and I would be watching that carefully. Reveal is set to occur within 24 hours.

Picture this: you’re an awesome founder/artist/brand. After months of work you’re ready to release your NFT collection to the world.

Your launch is one of the most important things that is in your control - it will make or break your project.

Here's how you can do it right 👇
2/23 Firstly, DON'T do a stealth launch. That's the worst possible way to launch a project. Why?
🔸 Epic gas wars
🔸 A large % gets bought up by bots/sophisticated traders that are watching for contract deployments
3/23 Also loss of goodwill: your passionate community members gave up sleep waiting for the launch (yet lose out to bots & still pay gas on failed transactions). Or miss out on because they were away.

it's a lazy way to drop a project. At least do it on an L2 if have to do it

I've been pondering abt what we can learn from previous NFT cycles; so we can best prepare for another big one which I believe has just started

Ray Dalio says: "To understand what is coming at you, it is important to understand what has happened in the past."

Let's dive in 🧵
2/26 If we look at transaction volumes, the key indicator of the NFT economy, we can segment it into a few phases.
🔸 Pre-inflection point (Before Jun'21)
🔸 Cycle 1 (Jun - late Oct'21): Art Mania
🔸 Cycle 2 (late Oct - Mar'21): PFP Mania
🔸 Cycle 3 (Mar'21 - ???)
3/26 The last 2 NFT cycles lasted ~5 months each (trough-to-trough). Each peak & trough has also been higher than the previous one, a positive sign of a growing market

NFTs move lightning fast. In comparison, DeFi has yet to recover fully after its peak in May'21 (based on DPI)

I’ve spent weeks deep in the weeds in @Treasure_DAO ($MAGIC). Here’s why I think it's a fascinating socio-economic experiment happening in real-time & something to watch for this year.

🧵👇
2/14 Treasure DAO’s vision is to be a decentralized game studio, kind of like a Nintendo for the Metaverse. Blockchain game developers will be able to leverage Treasure DAO’s infrastructure and community to bootstrap game universes much quicker. Image
3/14 Treasure DAO has five main product lines at various stages of development:
1️⃣ Bridgeworld (live)
2️⃣ Smolverse (live)
3️⃣ Life (launching Apr)
4️⃣ Treasure (Marketplace)
5️⃣ Trove (Marketplace, Q2 2022)

NFTs are on 🔥this week. i'm super excited to be spearheading @Delphi_Digital 's new weekly insights on all things NFTs / metaverse (alpha leak: for Delphi members it drops in your inbox every wed)

let me share a few key takeaways from our #1 issue! 👇
1/ Is the NFT bull market really back?

We broke $1B in weekly volumes, a level last broken in Aug'21 when NFTs went on a parabolic run. Unique buyers is at a ATH. I've focused on #ETH where most of the activity is, but plan to include analysis on other chains in the future
2/ Some factors contributing to this recent NFT rally are:

- Increased attention and buying activity from celebrities and influential names
- Recent $SOS airdrop (wealth effect)
- Traders looking for better opportunities while $BTC / $ETH moves sideways

1/ How do we identify NFTs with good narratives early? What gives NFTs their value?

A 🧵to help NFT creators and investors think through and make better decisions 👇
2/ NFTs have been very volatile, because they are:
1. relatively illiquid
2. in constant price discovery
3. culture is intangible & difficult to quantify
4. no valuation frameworks have been adopted widely

Most importantly: 5. NFTs are highly narrative-driven
3/ Narratives are powerful. @BoredApeYC has risen steeply in value partly because ppl believe it's going to be the next mega streetwear brand, akin to Supreme. This is a brand worth billions of dollars.
