On his Veergati Divas, let's pay homage to the young freedom fighter of #Jugantar who, by then was a well known Horse Rider, Wrestler & Running Athlete.

Chaki (10/12/1888) was born at present day Bangladesh for a well to do family.
When in school he was expelled for indulging in Anti British activities & for completing education he joined Rangpur National School.

Here he came in contact with Jugantar Members and along with

Kudhiram Bose and it was decided that both will bomb Magistrate Kingsford in his carriage, unfortunately on that fateful evening, Kingsford sent 2 European women in his carriage & both died in the blast.

There was a huge manhunt, Khudiram got caught, Chaki who was on a run

was caught by a police officer Nandlal Bannerjee, Chaki shot himself.

Khudiram was hanged & Nandlal Bannerjee was assassinated by 2 freedom fighters.

As usual Gandhi didn't approve & stated "that the Indian people will not win their freedom through these methods".

It was Tilak who supported the
2 freedom fighters in his newspaper Kesari & this made British file sedition charges against him & put him at Mandalay prison for 6 years.

Tilak, in Kesari wrote

"The rulers who always exercise unrestrained power must remember that there is

always a limit to the patience of humanity”. And so, “violence, however deplorable, became inevitable.”

(Effectively Tilak was sidelined & Gandhi came up after this incident. Well planned move by British Agent Gandhi)
