Story time: found out that my cautious mindset in how #COVIDisAirborne may have saved me last week from reinfection. My workplace had a big senior staff meeting for training and were using our program rooms. I like to come early before work to use an empty room to eat/study (1/4)
They finished an activity in one of the rooms so I was able to use it after. I realized though that given how a bunch of people (likely maskless) had just been inside, it would be smart to open a window to naturally clean the air of the room if there were viral aerosols. (2/4)
Felt more at ease once my CO2 monitor indicated ppm in the high 400s. Found out today that EVERY single staff member at the meeting got infected. This nails home the point that it’s possible to escape infection by cleaning the air in a closed space. (3/4)
Also important to keep in mind that you can still catch COVID from an empty room, given how the virus will hang in the air for hours. So don’t let your guard down, especially with the super high infectious nature of Omicron sub-variants! (4/4) #BCCOVID
