NEW 🧵: #MNGOP activists are concerned about a member of @doug_wardlow’s Big 10 Alliance - Omar Jamal. Wardlow’s campaign listed Jamal in a press release announcing the group in March. Wardlow recently tweeted a group picture after a meeting, but Jamal was not pictured.
An MPR story from 2009 noted Jamal was dishonest on his asylum application in 1998. Read backstory -> mbrdkrb.com/3P1dQQy
Jamal was accused in 2020 of offering a $10,000 bribe to man to falsely claim he was harvesting ballots for Congresswoman Illhan Omar. Read backstory -> mbrdkrb.com/3y7sW0T
Jamal reportedly backtracked on the claims of cash being exchanged for ballots - but not before he raised $30,000. Read backstory -> mbrdkrb.com/3y7sW0T
Jamal claimed he would use the money for "legal challenges" and "establish a baseline of financial stability" for his family. It's unclear at this time how any of the $30,000 was spent. Wardlow's connection to Jamal continues to be scrutinized. Stay tuned for updates.

NEW: I’ll be live-tweeting updates of the 1:30 PM court hearing in Ramsey County for Larvita McFarquhar, owner of @Havensgarden. This hearing could be very interesting. Read the thread below for background.
@Havensgarden The hearing has started, Judge Sara Grewing is presiding. This is a hearing on the Order to Show Cause…basically a hearing requested by @AGEllison to force compliance with the TRO granted by Judge Grewing.
Kaitrin Vohs, who works for @AGEllison’s office, announced that she is not requesting the confinement of Larvita McFarquhar for her failure to comply with the TRO issued by Judge Grewing. They want McFarquhar fined $250 per violation.
THREAD: Earlier today, The Capitol Area Architectural and Planning Board (CAAPB) issued a press release which included the statement that "there is no formal CAAPB policy and process that addresses the potential removal of monuments and artwork from the Capitol grounds."
As I noted in a previous thread, the statement of "no formal CAAPB policy and process" for the removal of a statue from the grounds of the Minnesota State Capitol Complex directly contradicts the statements of numerous public officials in Minnesota. Please read below for details.
As detailed by @thauserkstp, on June 10, 2020, at 3:35 PM, @MnDPS_DPS Commissioner John Harrington said he was aware of the threat to the statue. He said the @MnDPS_MSP would meet with protesters "to explain to them the process that is already in existence" to remove a statue.
