SHOCK: This is beyond the pale. Today, the #MNGOP invoked Melissa Hortman in a campaign list email from #MNGOP ED Jennifer DeJournett.

I have never seen a state party use the name of a murdered legislator from the other side of the aisle in an email to their list before. Image According to DeJournett's email, there is a "candidate" vigil at the Minnesota State Capitol (see below).

Overall, this email is tone-deaf, careless, and disrespectful.

🧵: This is another must-read thread from @daniellarsonpro. He updates his thread with a new analysis of @AJInvestigates' reporting and correctly questions why Lagoe ignored @wecovery_me. As Daniel correctly noted, "Selective outrage ≠ journalism."

Dive in below and comment! One of the questions I often get asked is how to engage with a journalist with a bias or agenda. It can be intimidating to push back on a reporter, especially if they are aggressive. I think @daniellarsonpro has presented evidence of the most egregious examples I've seen.

UPDATE: Here's an analysis of @Randerson041's posting based on X/Twitter accounts connected to him. He uses other accounts to astroturf "support" for his agenda and to troll and attack @daniellarsonpro. This same echo chamber also amplified @AJInvestigates's yellow journalism. I've published posts recently about #mnleg candidates with violent or disturbing pasts that should raise questions about their ability to effectively serve in office. Last evening, I learned that the DFL endorsed Hoff to run against Franson. I did some research on Hoff last night and today.

🧵I heard troubling news this weekend and wanted to share my concerns. I received a phone call about upcoming political conventions. I was told that Rep. @Jonkoznick is being challenged for the #mngop endorsement by an Action 4 Liberty-aligned candidate named Rick Stidger. The person I spoke with had no idea that I knew Rick Stidger. They mentioned it in passing along with other updates and information they had. I immediately spoke up and said I knew Rick Stidger.

UPDATE: In an e-mail to #MNGOP activists, @MNGOP Chairman David Hann pushes activists toward using electronic balloting instead of paper ballots at the upcoming @MNGOP State Convention. Padgett Communications will provide the electronic voting system, according to Hann. According to their website, Padgett Communications does work with the Walt Disney Company.
