The worst, most egregious and most nefarious official US disinformation campaign in years was the pre-election CIA lie that the authentic Biden emails were "Russian disinformation."
It was led by liberal outlets: CNN, Politico/Natasha Bertrand, HuffPost, Mother Jones, Intercept.
Not one of these outlets that spread this CIA lie with the purpose of manipulating the election outcome - not one! - has acknowledged the proof of authenticity, let alone retracted.
How can outlets that did this posture as anti-disinformation crusaders?
Here's a completely fabricated Guardian story. It was treated as a huge bombshell. When even liberals started doubting it, they added "sources say" to the headline. Everyone knows it's false: never happened. They refuse to retract it.
These are the real agents of disinformation.

Lula says that Zelensky "is as responsible as Putin for the war," that the US/EU have "irresponsibly" encouraged Zelensky to seek more war, and that "The U.S. and the E.U. should have assured Putin that Ukraine would not join NATO."
Here's the full passage with Lula's views about the war in Ukraine. As I've been trying to point out for months, there is huge dissent -- not unity -- in the international community. Both Bolsonaro and Lula have been depicted as being too neutral and not sufficiently pro-Ukraine.
Some Lula supporters are celebrating this TIME cover, as if TIME is still influential. Huge irony: TIME was CIA's favorite imperialist propaganda outlet to justify coups and destabilize governments it disliked. An old Brazilian law bans foreign-owned magazines due to TIME. Also:
Rich white woman @MollyJongFast - who won the birth lottery by being born to rich famous white parents who raised her in Manhattan, sent her to private schools, and thus herself bought an Upper East Side co-op for $5 million in 2007 at the age of 29 - rants about "rich white men"
In liberal discourse, people raised in vast wealth and privilege like Molly Jong-Fast and Taylor Lorenz are more marginalized and oppressed than, say, an unemployed white father of 3 in a de-industrialized, fentanyl-overrun town with no health care. He can't be marginalized.
This WashPost article on billionaire control of media is hilarious. It starts off trying to pin it to Musk's purchase of Twitter, obviously has to acknowledge Bezos' ownership of that paper, and ends by noting that - from the NYT/Sulzbergers to Hearst - it's always been this way.
The media meltdown over Musk's "threat" to restore free speech to part of the internet has been so funny so on multiple levels.
Most amusing is watching employees at giant billionaire-controlled media corporations - NYT/WP/Atlantic/ CNN/NBC - fret about billionaire influence.
In fact, some of the most sanctimonious leftist writers have been on the dole of Silicon Valley billionaires while attacking others for impure funding. That Musk's purchase of Twitter is some novel development - except for its potential to restore free speech - is laughable.
The level of historical ignorance, sheer stupidity and corporate-serving malevolence required to believe the US Security State is trying to *combat* disinformation -- rather than aggressively spread it -- is so extreme that no words in the English language suffice to describe it:
But that someone who is given the job title of "journalist" by the HR Department of Warner Bros. Discovery Corp. can read a story about Homeland Security creating a "Disinformation Board" and celebrate it as "common sense" shows not only why CNN is dying but why it deserves to.
But when your job title is "journalist" and you spend your time at Versailles-type parties hosted by billionaire magazine owners - dining, drinking and giggling with CIA Director and other US Security State operatives - of course these are the sorts of things you end up saying.
Look at all the journalists/activists swooning over this NYT "investigation." They're just liberals and Dems who already believed the NYT's conclusion. Conservatives scoff at it. It changed nothing.
It's just self-affirming crack for those who most trust NYT: almost *all Dems*:
Also shows the gigantic and rapidly growing breach between elite liberal journalism and the population.
NYT says we're at "a moment when white backlash is the jet fuel of a GOP." A poll just showed 52% of Latinos, 41% of non-whites and 20% of Black people will vote GOP in 2022.
Billionaires already control most social media monopolies and corporate news outlets but AOC seems to have no problem with that because they censor in accordance with the wishes of her party and ideology.
It's only a problem now that this political censorship might stop.
