Preparing for Step 2CK:
🧵
Resources: 1. UWorld: I can't stress enough how important this is!!! Give it as much time and dedication as possible. The more you're thorough with it, the better!
(1/7) #medtwitter#USMLE#step2
I started UWorld with just Medicine, when I was halfway done, I added Surgery, and so on. So towards the end I was solving mixed blocks. Start timed mode as early as possible: Q. stems can be really long, and require a lot of practice to get through quickly.
(2/7)
2. Divine Intervention Podcasts: These are GOLD. (God bless Divine! 🥺❤) Must listen: No.s 37, 97, 184, 204, 231 (Risk Factors/Most Common/ Military)
3. Mock exams: UWSAs and NBMEs
(3/7)
4. Other popular resources: Amboss QBank, Online MedEd videos with notes (Available online for free), Step Up 2 Medicine
Not much to say since I didn't really use them
(4/7)
Things to note:
•Don't rush your prep! With Step 1 being P/F, the 2CK score becomes very important.
•Check out qs on Drug Ads, Abstracts, and SOAP on the ECFMG website
•Practise Stats and Ethics well
•Use FA for Step 1 as needed
(5/7)
•You may or may not annotate. If you do, keep your notes short! UWorld for Step 2 is huge. I love making notes, but I realised in retrospect that my prep would have gone much faster had I not made them. I couldn't read most of them in the end anyway.
(6/7)
Step 2CK is one of the longest exams you'll ever take. Be as calm and composed as possible (I wasn't 🥲). Trust your instinct, believe in yourself and your prep!
Plan your breaks and EAT WELL during the exam.
Good luck! :)
