#GANGOTPATTI (Ganga Sapthami) - What does it indicate?
7th Lunar day (#Sapthami) in the bright fortnight of the lunar month #Vaisakha Maasam is reckoned as #Gangotpatti the day Holy #Ganga (Ganges) emerged out from the ear of Sage #Jahnu. +
After #Vishnu#Paadodbhavi the divine Ganga descended on to the earth making Lord #Shiva's matted locks as its platform,
Ganga followed #Bhagiratha to the Nether worlds to purify the souls of #Sagara Puthras lying in the form of an ash in the ashrama of #Kapila Maha Muni. +
On the way the waters of Ganga submerged the Ashrama of Sage #Jahnu who got annoyed and drank the entire Ganga waters.
Afterwards the Sage got pleased with the prayers of Bhagiratha and others and released Ganga from his ear for welfare of the mankind. +
Thenceforth Ganga came to be known also as #Jaahnavi.

In Hindu electional astrology Akshaya Thrutheeya is one of the most auspicious day when one need not look into the Almanac (Panchaanga) to select an auspicious moment. It is called as Sade Theen Muhurtha.

Sade theen means 3½ and muhurtha means auspicious time. Four such auspicious days in Hindu calendar are,
Chaithra Sukla Prathama – Yugaadi day;
Vaisakha Sukla Thrutheeya – Akshaya Thrutheeya;
Aaswayuja Sukla Dasami - Vijaya Dasami;
Karthika Sukla Prathama – Bali Paadyami;
Akshaya Thrutheeya is one of the most sacred days (Parvadina) in Hindu religious/spiritual calendar. Maxims of sacred texts prescribe that during any Parva-Punya kaala one should perform meritorious activities (punya kaarya) like Snaana - Daana - Prayer - Pithru tharpana etc..
6th in the line of Dasavatharas, Parashurama was an incarnation of Lord Vishnu, born to Sage Jamadagni (one of the Saptha Rishis) & Renuka in Tretha Yuga. +
Born in the clan of Sage Bhrigu he is also known as BhargavaRama. He derived his name Parashurama from his weapon called Parashu (axe). +
In sloka # 61 of Sri Vishnu Sahasranama Stothram,
Lord Vishnu is described as #Khanda-#Parashuh; #Parashurama the axe wielder.
He is the one with a punishing axe.

Vaisakha Sukla Trutheeya is reckoned as #Akshaya Trutheeya, one of the most auspicious days in Hindu calendar.
#Akshaya means,
the one that is not perishable; ever lasting;
Trutheeya is 3rd day in Hindu Lunar calendar known as #Jaya thithi.+
Akshaya Trutheeya is assumed as the day #Tretha Yuga had commenced known as Tretha #Yugaadi. It is also reckoned as #Kalpaadi (Niilalohita).
Akshaya Thrutheeya is reckoned as Sri #Parashurama Jayanthi, the sacred day Lord Parashurama (Lord Vishnu’s Avathara) was born;

Astrologically Akshaya Thrutheeya is the day royal planets Sun and Moon will be in their signs of exaltation;
Sun in Aries (Mesha Raasi) and
Moon in Vrushabha Raasi (Taurus).
If the day coincide with Wednesday and Rohini constellation it is considered to be more meritorious.
The ONE and the only ONE ENTITY in this Universe which is everlasting #Akshaya not perishable is,

Akshaya Thrutheeya is one of the most sacred days (Parvadina) in Hindu religious/spiritual calendar. Giving daana is one of the essentials of Akshaya Thrutheeya but, how it should be? that pleases the supreme God Sri Hari;
Lord Sri Krishna says in Bhagawadgita....
'Patram pushpam phalam toyam yo me bhaktya prayacchati
tad aham bhakty-upahritam ashnami prayatatmanah'
That means whoever offers Me with devotion a leaf, a flower, a fruit, or water, that I accept, offered with pure-mind & devotion. +
