Rick: I've been a union member for over 30 yrs. I've spent probably $20k on dues. What have I gotten in return? (con't)

Rick: (con't) Superior wages. The best health insurance out there, at no cost to me, as negotiated by my union. There are members of Congress who envy my good healthcare coverage.

Rick: (con't) I'm protected on my job, & I'm not subject to "Be a doer, not a due-er."
My contemporaries don't pay dues but they get lower wages & have to pay part or all of their own healthcare.

Rick: I wish I could get the return on investment on everything else that I do for my $50 dues money.

Rick: Look at the HQ2 scam Amazon did. It cost taxpayers huge amts of money, & Amazon was never going to Dubuque, IA, or to Pittsburgh, PA, but they dangled the carrot in front of every community in the nation, saying to send their info to Amazon.

Bob Ney: The reporter should have asked how the senator would have set up the hearing process. You can't take away human nature about what you think about people. If someone has a great philosophy but they aren't qualified, they should be turned down.

Olga Lautman: If you go back to when Russia brutally assaulted & invaded Ukraine, the first thing they did was take over Chernobyl. It's a contaminated site. There are certain protocols.

Rick: A woman in TX was arrested for murder for having an abortion past 6 weeks.
Max Burns: We need to make sure that just because we knew this was what Repubs wanted to do doesn't make it any less horrible.

Max Burns: The Supreme Court still holds that Roe v Wade is the law of the land but TX is writing their own laws. Federal law says it's not illegal to get an abortion, it's not illegal to cross state lines to get an abortion.

Tim Hogan: The GOP is asking to define a woman not because it's a biology test but because it's part of a culture war they're trying to use to divide people. Same with FL's Don't Say Gay bill--anything to drive a wedge between groups of people.

Tim Hogan: Ketanji Brown Jackson was confirmed; she's extremely qualified. This is the first time we'll have a black woman sit on the Supreme Court. It's so important this type of representation sits on the Supreme Court.

Rick: It's been over a year since some 1100 miners with Warrior Met Coal in Alabama went on strike.
Haeden Wright: Everyone's dug in. We've had less than 15% of the workforce cross the picket line. It's b/c of support of people like you, Rick, getting the word out.

Haeden Wright: Workers go on strike as a last resort when the company refuses to negotiate in good faith with the union & the workers.

Haeden Wright: Other unions have come in & lifted us up, offering support. At Christmas, over 300 of our children received gifts from people all over the country. They didn't know us or our kids but knew we were standing up for a better contract.
