@Deedledeeh @ambernoelle GURL if you wanna feel good afterwards get a doula and a midwife to help w the birth. Doctors tend to rush birth and that increases tearing. The perineum has evolved to stretch. The ONLY reason to shout PUSH at a person birthing is if the fetus is dying.
Birth is a reflex.

And get as many prenatal massages as you can afford. Sometimes massage schools need ‘models’ and will give you free massages.

Despite a lot of loud chaotic movie scenes that tell a story to the contrary- birth is not inherently painful. Remember that some women even orgasm during birth. No natural bodily functions are painful.

@Deedledeeh @ambernoelle This only works when birth is consensual. When a woman is subjected to human rights violations like #ForcedBirth, oxytocin is replaced w adrenaline and the uterus loses all it’s blood to prioritize fight or flight muscles. This is called an ischemic uterus.

@Deedledeeh @ambernoelle This condition already happens to many women who expect birth to hurt and are freaking the fuck out at the first couple contractions instead of breathing. Just like going to the gym, you can’t lift weights without breathing properly, the uterus is a gigantic muscle.

@Deedledeeh @ambernoelle My natural birth felt like I was sedated on crazy foggy drugs, doing weighted squats for 12 hours, and then constipated for several more hours. It was uncomfortable, but not painful. My birth was consensual, and I was very well prepared w breathing training.

are so similar w pain and pleasure response, that both can hurt OR be awesome. Like any natural reflex, fear and trauma prevent proper function.
Anxiety and fear change your respiration and hormone release.
Can’t orgasm or even poop while terrified, can you?

@Deedledeeh @ambernoelle The sphincter muscles in charge of pooping are controlled by the subconscious as well. If a person is in fight or flight mode (as one might be who does NOT want a baby), their ischemic uterus and closed pelvic muscles will not enjoy a painless birth. At all. Consent.
