Shocking revelation from the #SpyCopsInquiry yesterday: The CPS decided there was a good chance of securing a conviction for the officer who stole the identity of the dead infant Rod Richardson, but bringing a prosecution is "not in the public interest"

The CPS took its decision last year, 2 weeks after Rod Richardson's mother, Barbara Shaw, had died. It says it is because the officer followed his training. The #SpyCops officer was exposed in 2013 by activists suspicious of their former comrade. The Met flatly denied the now-established fact that stealing identities of dead children was standard practice & part of their training.

Later in 2013, the Met did an internal investigation into the officer who stole Rod Richardson's identity, called Operation Riverwood. When they finished, they refused to let Rod's mother Barbara see it. They did not even admit the man was a police officer until December 2016.

Rod Richardson's family, like other victims of #SpyCops, suffer a triple injustice familiar to victims of state wrongdoing. First, there's what was done. Second, the lies & legal process tricks that obstruct the path to the truth. Thirdly, the absolute lack of justice, ever.
