Granted, Alexis Spiegelman, chair of M4L SRQ is a stepmother. But the child she shows up for at these school board meetings has a mother. If the child's father were to die or divorce Spiegelman tomorrow, she would have ZERO "parental" rights. 2/8
What does this group offer her that would make her feel empowered to take a stand on behalf of "her child" and the others? 3/8
Don't get me wrong - communities should care about their young people and show up for them. But her insertion as if she is somehow directly affected boggles my mind. Is she just bored and lonely? Is she being offered some sort of power? 4/8
