🧵The GOP candidates for gov spent the last several months taking the most extreme positions on every issue. Instead of facing Wisconsinites with these takes, they’ve gone to the safety of conservative outlets. Before the #RPW2022 this weekend, here’s what we deserve to know:
Considering the chaos of the primary, the last minute entry of @michelsforgov, and @KevinMNicholson’s push for a “no endorsement,” if the WisGOP votes to endorse a candidate, will the candidates unite behind the endorsed candidate or continue to fight with one another?
When news broke that #RoeVWade could be overturned, every candidate reacted with joy. Considering how this could take us back to pre-Civil War legislation, will they also take steps to limit access to birth control, Plan B, IVF, or other forms of reproductive health care?
If #RoeVWade is overturned, there are concerns that the same may soon happen to same-sex marriage. Robin Vos recently backed banning marriage equality. Do the GOP gubernatorial candidates also back this ban? jsonline.com/story/news/pol…
.@RebeccaForReal, @KevinMNicholson, @Ramthunforgov, and @michelsforgov are too divisive for Wisconsin. How far are they willing to go on issues that impact us to prove they’re the most extreme? If they can’t answer these questions, they don’t deserve to represent Wisconsin.

Given the knives-out, unholy shambles of a GOP primary that we’ve seen so far, it is not a surprise that the Republican Party could not unite around a candidate.

The vicious personal attacks between their candidates will continue to tear the GOP further apart.
🧵 Under pressure to stand out, Kleefisch, Nicholson, Ramthun, & Michels have made the crowded GOP primary for governor a race to the bottom, where only the most extreme agendas win & Wisconsinites lose. Listen to what they have to say about each other: #RPW2022
.@RebeccaforReal: “Kevin Nicholson is an opportunist who has proven time and time again that he is willing to literally say or do anything, in order to become a part of the political establishment that he claims to hate so much.”
Ahead of the WisGOP state convention, Rep @MarkPocan, OB-GYN Doctor @KristinLyerly, and President of the Wisconsin South Central Federation Kevin Gundlach joined to call out Ron Johnson and his self-serving agenda.
We just had our FIRST big win of the night—congratulations, to Mayor @CavalierJohnson! 🎉 Help us celebrate by retweeting and replying below, and stay tuned as we continue to post wins and updates LIVE, as we get them. #WinWithWisDems
THREAD: Wisconsin Republicans are touting their voter suppression bills at the #RPW2021 Convention. Wisconsinites are against them.
“These bills make it harder for voters who already face significant challenges to have their voices heard and their votes count.” - Beth Swedeen, executive director for the Wisconsin Board for People with Developmental Disabilities minnesota.cbslocal.com/2021/06/22/wis…

#WomensHistoryMonth Mildred Fish-Harnack was a spy for the Allied forces during World War II and was the only American woman to die by Hitler's direct order for her involvement in the resistance movement.
Born in Milwaukee, Fish-Harnack studied and taught English at @UWMadison, where she met her husband from Germany. Later, they moved to Germany and she continued to teach while working on her doctorate.
Fish-Harnack and her husband joined a small resistance group during the rise of the Nazi regime. Their group helped Jews escape from Germany and smuggled important information to the U.S. government about the Nazis.
