Listening to #DeppAnon compare supporters of Amber Heard to #MAGA is like watching MAGA call people Nazis. It's the very definition of projection, the mental process by which people attribute to others what is in their own minds.

Only one side has been deploying bot-driven and amplified disinformation campaigns. Only one side has paid $$$THOUSANDS running disinformation social media ads. Only one side is being fact-checked by sources that usually fact-check Republicans. #DeppAnon.

Only one side is infested with Men's Rights activists and incels, groups categorized by the Southern Poverty Law Center and the US government as hate groups. The latter, as a terrorist threat. #DeppAnon.

I bring this up because I constantly see so-called "progressives" who would normally and strongly reject such things turn a blind eye to them in defense of one court-proven wife-beater because you love how he portrayed a drunk pirate.

VOX, by all accounts at least a left-of-center news source, said it best: "It’s not a coincidence that this spectacle is playing out against a backdrop of perpetually escalating racist violence and the rapid erosion of decades of human rights for women, queer, and trans people."

When the techniques and legal maneuvering used in this trial become weaponized against others, I don't want to see you marching for women's and LGBTQ+ rights. Keep your a** home watching 21 Jump Street reruns.
