My daily update. #ukrdailyupdate. I do all of the research myself, if I see something I mark it down. Just trying to do my best to follow the war and report what I see. I usually start with Kharkiv, but today not much happened there so I will just post an image.
Izyum: I saw reports that Ukraine have control over all or most of the town of Dovhenke (1), and I have updated the map. There are also reports that Ukrainian fighter bombers attacked and destroyed Russian forces in the Dovhenke area, although I'm not sure of the location.
Russia tried to attack towards Bohorodychne supported by artillery and mortar fire, but were repelled (2). I have updated the Ukrainian line to be further north west as a result.
Mriya Aid is a canadian charity that provides nonlethal aid to Ukraine, including medical supplies, drones, and body armor. It delivers supplies directly to the front lines using connections with the Ukrainian government and military that were developed during Operation Unifier.
Operation Unifier was the Canadian response to the Ukrainian call for help in 2014 and consisted of the Canadian armed forces sending nearly a billion dollars in aid to Ukraine and helping, along with other NATO allies, to train the Ukrainian military. canada.ca/en/department-…
Every single penny you donate to Mriya Aid goes towards helping Ukraine. There is no overhead. The website is donated for free, the warehouse is donated, etc. Every penny you donate goes to buy nonlethal aid and send it where it is needed.
I genuinely don't understand why there are so many Japanese Russian propaganda sources. It is baffling to me. Like, I can understand the Indian, African, and South American ones to an extent, since they are poorly educated and think Russia is fighting against imperialism.
Which, BTW, makes no sense. Russia is fighting in favor of imperialism, and it is Ukraine, United States, United Kingdom, etc fighting *against* imperialism. But that's another story. But wtf does a Japanese speaker have to gain from supporting Russia?
I mean, I understand why Russia would want Japanese propaganda, since Japan is one of the most powerful anti-imperialist countries on earth. So Russia and China are both super anti-Japan. But what does a japanese person have to gain from this?
Look at what has been going on in the Popasna area over the past 2 weeks.
Notice how Russia has made no progress north in several days. The attacks have totally stagnated. The forces Russia put here were badly damaged in the battle for Kyiv, damaged again in battle of Izyum/Popasna, and are now getting grounded down more.
I’ve seen unconfirmed reports that Russia might be done pushing north from Bilohorivka, as they have been trying to push through for several days and have actually lost ground. So they are seeking out a path of less resistance.
My daily update. It appears to be a slow news day, or maybe I just didn't find the right stories today. I do all of the research myself, so if I see something I mark it down. Just trying to do my best #ukrdailyupdate
First, Kharkiv: There is some fighting going on in the towns of Tsupivka (1) and Nove (2). Tsupivka I have marked as a Ukrainian controlled area, but note that there is very low troop density. Nove I have marked as a gray zone. These skirmishes are small scale fighting.
There is also ongoing fighting in the Ternova area (3).
Not pictured here, but slightly south, Russia hit a solar power station with a missile, destroying several solar panels.
We already knew Canada sent Excalibur ammunition to Ukraine, and today we see M109 Paladins are in Ukraine. In addition to the Caesars that were already deployed. Among other sorts of artillery. Very nice seeing these long range SPG combined with their highly accurate ammunition.
SPG means self propelled gun. A paladin is a tracked vehicle with a really big gun on top. Not a tank, although it might look like one. It is designed to shoot 1-2 arty shells then drive away so it cannot be shot back. They originally came out in the 60s, but were updated in 2013
Caesar is also a SPG, but it is a wheeled vehicle. It has a very high rate of fire, and is designed to deploy, fire 4-5 shots, and drive away in under 2 minutes.
