The First Conference of the Communist Parties of Latin America was in Buenos Aires, Argentina, from June 1–12, 1929.
Thirty-eight delegates, representing Argentina, Brazil, Bolivia, El Salvador, Guatemala, Cuba, Colombia, Ecuador, Mexico, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay, and Venezuela, took part in the meeting.
The conference agreed on a political understanding of Latin America, believing that the revolution in the region should be anti-imperialist, agricultural, and democratic congresses also agreed to form a solidarity pact with the Soviet Union.

Despite several disagreements with Marx's idea of state socialism. Bakunin became a member of the International Working Men's Association (First International), a federation of radical political groups dedicated to overthrowing capitalism and establishing a socialist state.
