Frank Eathorne, chair of the Wyoming GOP, is - like other politicians at the Jan 6 Capitol attack - a liar: “No violence or property damage was observed during my..brief stop there” But Eathorne was at the Capitol for 2.5 hours and saw violence up close - we’ll show you. 1/
Because Eathorne was on Capitol grounds so long - with a radio - we held off Tweeting to try to understand more. But now that NBC is reporting on him, it’s time to go over his footage. This thread has highlights; see the full report for video links. 2/
docs.google.com/document/d/1WT…
Eathorne seems to head to the Capitol directly from the Trump rally, arriving around 1:30 PM, right behind GA State Rep Vernon Jones. By that time police are fighting hard on the Plaza and lobbing tear gas and flashbangs into the crowd. Everyone comments on it. 3/
Eathorne stayed on the W. lawn for an hour while the Plaza battle raged. He wasn’t up at the police lines, but would have seen the tear gas, heard people yelling on bullhorns: “Move forward - they can’t arrest all of us!” This is 2:06 PM. 4/
Eathorne would have seen invaders seize the NW Scaffolds and methodically slash its tarp all the way up to the top (“no..property damage was observed”). This clip is 2:07 and 2:08 PM. 5/
At 2:28 PM, after invaders had breached the Capitol, a coordinated violent attack broke the police lines on the W. Plaza. Eathorne wasn’t this close but he would still have seen something from the lawn. 6/
Here’s what the fall of the W. Plaza looked like from about where Eathorne stood. The crowd cheers “We did it!” “F— yeah!” “Let’s go!” as the mob moves forward, and others carry police barricades away. 7/
At 2:37 PM (L), while the last police officers retreat, Eathorne is still on the lawn, but by 2:45 PM (R), he’s moved forward with the mob onto the W. Plaza. 8/
This is the peak of the coordinated attack, when invaders breached multiple doors to the Capitol, and several signals appear set off to mark the successes. At 2:46 PM, Eathorne is right next to the red smoke signal on the Plaza. 9/
Eathorne stays on the Plaza for at least another hour, gradually moving forward, while the mob attacks at the tunnel above. He would have seen the bleachers fill with invaders, heard the shouts. At 3:32 he’s looking cheerful. 10/
At 3:50 PM, a half hour after Officer Fanone was dragged, Eathorne is still there. 11/
Here’s Eathorne’s full statement issued after the riot. It is a lie. Video shows he “personally witnessed” violence. That he personally witnessed property damage. And 2.5 hours is not a “brief stop”. 12/
wyomingnewsnow.tv/2021/01/10/sta…
If Eathorne was just making a peaceful, normal, protest, it’s worth asking also: what’s with the costume? We literally found no photographs of him without his cowboy hat - except at the Capitol attack. 13/
At Saturday’s rally in Casper, Eathorne talked tough, said he’d “crawl over barbed wire for Trump”. But like other J6 politicians, ask him a question about Jan 6 and he sounds like a toddler instead: “no no, not me!” Might reconsider that barbed wire. 14/
cowboystatedaily.com/2022/05/28/gop…
Eathorne’s not alone: other politicians of the insurrection also sound like toddlers. They all stayed outside; they’re unlikely to be arrested - but they lie anyway, instead of owning up to their actions. They can’t handle the smallest accountability. 15/
Lots of competition for the most spineless politician of the insurrection. Eathorne is Candidate 1. Candidate 2 is Mark Finchem, former AZ State Rep, running for AZ Sec. of State. Came to watch on the E. Plaza, then claimed “I was never really there”. 16/
Candidate 3 is Doug Mastriano, former PA State Senator, running for PA Governor. Toured the insurrection, walking over barricades, police retreating before him. Then claimed “I respected all police lines” except that, well, “police lines did shift.” 17/
Here are Mastriano's exact words, in a statement he issued after news reports of his presence at the Capitol on Jan 6. 18/
senatormastriano.com/2021/05/25/mas…
Candidate 4 is JR Majewski, running for Congress in OH-9. Rushed in in the first wave with his QAnon pal Zak Paine (RedPill78), stayed on the W. Plaza through concussion bombs & tear gas. Then swore on Twitter he’d never been on illegal grounds & had been “cleared by the FBI” 19/
Another strong contender would be Dana Rohrabacher, formerly “Putin’s favorite Congressman” (CA). Bravado on Jan 5: “Now I’m headed to DC to join the patriots that are mobilizing there..” Watched for over an hour, then blamed “leftist provocateurs” 20/
Vote: which Jan 6 politician had the most spineless excuses? (Only 4 options so choose among the current pols.) Please retweet for maximum voter turnout. 21/
As always, the work of finding, tracking, and documenting invaders at the Capitol on Jan 6 is a collective crowdsourced effort. @OSINTyeti found Eathorne and led on his report. To find more info, use hashtags:

The shooting in Uvalde makes it hard to Tweet about Jan. 6 right now. But there are awful connections: the same people pushed dangerous & divisive gun policies and election-fraud claims. From 2011, Russian agent Maria Butina worked to infiltrate the National Rifle Assn. 1/
Why attack America if you can get America to attack itself? Butina, employed by Russian govt. official Aleksandr Torshin, worked her way in, brought NRA officials to Moscow. It sounds insane but the Senate Finance Committee wrote a 77-page report. 2/
npr.org/2019/09/27/764…
Here's Butina with NRA President Wayne LaPierre in 2014. By 2015 she had dinner in Moscow with then-Congressman Dana Rohrabacher - who was in the Capitol mob on Jan 6. She started affairs with several high-profile Americans. By 2016 she moved to the US on a student visa.. 3/

#SeditionHunters - a long-awaited arrest today for assault on the press on Jan 6. Rod Milstreed, #UnderArmorDarkShades, tied to the Proud Boys, was one of the first to attack AP photographer John Minchillo. He's in camo at 0:08 in this video (from AP). 1/
Court docs for Milstreed were filed in Denver, though he's from Maryland - as reported by @jeremyjojola and @MacFarlaneNews. Will post updates when docs are public. 2/
Of Minchillo's attackers, 3 have now been arrested (#UnderArmorDarkShades, #CamoCrazyEyes, and #GreyBeanieMeanie). #GreenBandanaMan is still at large. And the folks who helped Minchillo ... also deserve arrest. See thread. 3/

Journalists - now that Elon Musk, richest man in the world, is dabbling in extremist politics, can someone please fact-check his bio to resolve some obvious problems? This Tweet alerted me that Musk claims to have started a PhD program 2 years BEFORE finishing his undergrad.. 1/
Here is Elon's timeline from the San Jose Mercury News, which has him moving to Silicon Valley in 1995:
* 1989-1991 Queen's College (this is widely acknowledged)
* (no time stated) transfer to Penn
* 1995 moves to Stanford for a PhD program (but defers) 2/
web.archive.org/web/2020061010…
The discrepancy is obvious on Musk's Wikipedia page, which says both that he entered a prestigious PhD program in 1995 (not deferring, but starting and then dropping out), and that he didn't finish his undergrad til 1997 (dual degrees in Econ & Physics). 3/

#SeditionHunters - a new name connected to Jan 6 that hasn't come up before: GA Rep. Barry Loudermilk provided a day-before Capitol tour to someone. His GA colleague Rep. Jody Hice is tied to Latinos for Trump leader Bianca Gracia, who got a White House tour on Dec. 11... 1/
Here's Latinos for Trump leader Bianca Gracia re-tweeting GA Rep. Jody Hice on Dec. 21, as she calls for a mob: "Its going down in DC" (presumably her typo writing "December" instead of "January"). 2/
Image
That makes 3 Georgia state reps. now with Jan 6 connections, the third being of course former Rep. Vernon Jones, who spoke at the Ellipse, then joined the mob at the Capitol. Sound on to hear him: "We're taking our country back!" 3/

#SeditionHunters - today brings the news that Charles Herbster, so close to the Trump family that he spent January 6 with them, has lost the Republican primary for NE governor. This excellent article from the Nebraska Examiner shows why this matters. 1/
nebraskaexaminer.com/2022/02/25/her…
After Herbster was accused of sexual harassment by eight different women, Trump traveled to Nebraska to campaign for him. Herbster was leading in the polls. But now he has lost. 2/
cnn.com/2022/05/08/pol…
Primary season will show see whether insurrection sells. Ohio saw a shock last week: the QAnon-associated JR Majewski, who at the Capitol Jan 6, will be the OH-9 Republican candidate for Congress. But Nebraska held the line. 3/

#SeditionHunters - you may have read Steve Schmidt's bombshell thread tonight detailing Paul Manafort's long-term efforts to aid Russia's interests - first in the McCain campaign in 2008, then Trump's in 2016. So let's remember Manafort's connection to January 6, 2021 too. 1/
Paul Manafort's company ran the Ellipse rally where Trump spoke, that brought 1000s to DC. But rally planning was late and started a mess: Jan 6 was not green-lit til Dec. 19th early AM, and by the 21st it was tangled in a power grab by Cindy Chafian to put herself in charge. 2/
On Dec. 22d - 3 days after green-lighting Jan 6 - Trump pardoned 2016 campaign advisor George Papadopolous (convicted for lying about his Russia contacts), also Blackwater guys convicted of murder. On the 24th, he pardoned Roger Stone & former campaign chair Paul Manafort. 3/
