#Thread on anti-Muslim violence in the last 24 hours and how the anti-Muslim violence broke out across India in the name of the Shobha Yatra. The minor incidents that earlier used to happen have now turned into a considerable amount of arson and violence against Muslims.+

In the Muslim-dominated Kiradpura area of the old city in Aurangabad, Maharashtra, a group of youths on bikes shouted provocative slogans against Muslims, which led to an altercation with locals. The situation escalated into violence, with stone pelting and vehicle torching.+

In Lakhisarai, Bihar, Bajrang members brandished swords and played provocative songs during Shoba Yatra.

On March 7, a Hindu mob of about two dozen people lynched a Muslim man in front of a mosque in Rasulpur, Chhapra. I travelled 1000 kilometres to cover this incident in Bihar. I've been in Chhapra and Siwan for the past three days. +

On March 7, a group of Hindu nationalists brutally lynched 47-year-old Naseeb Qureshi in Chhapra, Bihar. The assailants claimed that the Muslim man was carrying beef. The deceased was from the Hasanpura, Siwan, and the incident happened in Rasulpur, Chhapra.

Naseeb Qureshi was brutally beaten with sticks and sharp weapons, and Firoz Qureshi who was with Naseeb at that time managed to escape and went to the police station to ask about his uncle’s whereabouts. However, he was misbehaved with and asked to leave the police station. +
