Romer's libertarian gang include Sunak, Truss, ERG, Baker, Mogg the whole damn lot of them. All linked to r/w think tanks in Tufton Street. Their influence in Westminster still a mystery to the public is masked by their 'charity status'. IEA formed in 1955 on advice of Hayek.

TPA on Charter Cities - min wage/working hrs regs and social benefits for citizens abolished (eg a 5 year phased withdrawal), central Govt economic and planning and regs abolished, no more Govt development help, 10% flat rate income tax, 10% Corporation Tax, no capital gains tax.

TPA wrote glowing terms of possible future for UK if they adopted Romers ideas, they envisage Hull as an ideal place to start. Instead of overseeing charter cities in developing countries, private companies could exploit our own deprived areas instead, Brexit's 'emerging markets'

Tie that in with Johnson's recent announcement of right to buy and 'home-rule' (imported form US) and this quickly becomes a 'not-in-my-backyard' policy where ordinance can be passed preventing the construction of social housing and pushing the poor, those on UC/low incomes 'out'

@RichardJMurphy has a fantastic explainer on the dangers of Freeports. Just remember that right wing Charter cities will magnify these dangers 100 fold affecting all citizens esp the poor once Mogg's bonfire of EU regs happens and Raab's HR is trashed.
