If Britain's Future included a de facto blasphemy law enforced by gangs of men protesting outside cinemas, I think most people would say 'count me out'. #LadyOfHeaven
I expect all of Qari Asim's interfaith gigs to continue though. For those involved in interfaith, little or nothing is expected other than the joy of meetings and declaring their own righteousness. Who cares if our own values are ripped up by mobs yelling at the local multiplex!
The letter giving Qari Asim his marching orders is very, very good. The Boris Johnson administration has said, and done, very little against Islamism. Perhaps this is a welcome sign it is going to stop giving ground to its opponents?

But this Labour leaflet, in her name, appealing to (actual or perceived) UK-Pakistani hostility to India is desperate stuff
@ZacGoldsmith's appeal to Indian voters when running against @SadiqKhan in 2016 is widely perceived to have been a mistake.
In #BatleyAndSpen Labour now seem to be trying their own variant on the same approach.
The dirtiest British constituency campaign I can recall is Salma Yaqoob v Naz Shah in Bradford West in 2017.
This is a Mayor who banned 'body-shaming' adverts on the tube, but then decided adverts of models in their underwear were acceptable after all, if they were the right type of models
With the exception of the mad bloke with a loud hailer outside parliament, no one worked harder to cancel the EU referendum vote than Sadiq Khan.
Even in this mayoral election campaign, 5 years after the vote, he was likening Brexit to the global pandemic newstatesman.com/politics/devol…
