The Goddess Vārāhī is one of the major deities in the Śrī Vidyā tradition. Rājasyamala and Vārāhī are the main pair of deities associated with Lalitā. While Rājaśyāmalā represents the female side, cooling moon or iḍā nāḍī and the five downward
triangles in the Śrī Cakra, Vārāhī represents the male side, sun energy or piṅgala nāḍī and the four upward triangles in the Śrī Cakra.

Vārāhī, who is also called Daṇḍanāthā, is the Commander-in-Chief of all forces under Śrī Lalitā Mahā Tripurāsundarī. She was born from the flowery arrows of Śrī Lalitā, and represents ahaṃkāra tattva, or the element of the

ego. Vārāhī is the most ferocious manifestation and aspect of Śrī Mātā (Mother), she destroys evil forces that obstructs the devotees’ progress and paralyses the internal enemies.
As per the Lalitopākhyāna, Vārāhī emerged to kill Viśukra (Commander-in-Chief of demon Bhandāsura). Vārāhī's chariot is Kiri Chakra in which are seated the celestial physicians the Ashwini Devas and Śrī Dhanvantari - the God of Physicians (the father of Ayurvedic medicine).
With celestial beings as these in Her chariot, bhaktas are blessed by Her with good health and relief from dreadful chronic diseases.
As Daṇḍanāthā (who carries the staff/cane), She goads the Sādhakas (practitioners) in right path.
