Gosh, bot networks are out in force today pushing #NeverLabour#BackBoris ... always remember, you are likely to be talking to a bot or someone trapped and being radicalised within a network. They are usually not aware that most of their active "friends" have an agenda ...
... or are actually bots. So be kind, be mindful of this. There can be good people trapped and radicalised by this stuff, see the whole #DefundBBC saga.
If you need to engage then listen first, be kind, be caring and don't push them further into these networks.
Wow ... bot networks (and people captured in these networks) have gone into overdrive this morning pumping out the idea that strikers and their supporters are capitalist hating marxists. Last time I saw this level of disinformation and propaganda was the Corbyn days.
So Government ministers and their pet journalists are really going to try and spend the next few months turning the public against cleaners, ticket office staff and then I assume doctors, nurses and teachers. How quickly those claps disappear when it comes to sharing.
Confirms what the RMT has said all along. This is a Government manufactured dispute -
X : How bad are things?
Me : We've got a PM with no integrity, who frankly lies and ministers that are no better. We have lawbreakers as lawmakers. Add to this a large chunk of the media that refuses to challenge and hold to account. This is not good.
Finally, on the subject of Grant Shapps, does anyone know what happened to Coventry's Gigafactory that he opposed? - birminghammail.co.uk/news/midlands-…
X : What about wage inflation?
Me : "the rules are for other people, but not for them and their friends" - mirror.co.uk/news/politics/…
X : Propaganda?
Me : Through the roof. 1) RMT (includes cleaners etc) don't make £59,600 year. 2) I support brexit. Not a #middleclass#remainiac 3) RMT is fighting for the railway. 4) I don't like Marxists.
The language being used behind the propaganda pushed out under #backboris#NeverLabour is one of conflict, of them vs us, of class war ... it is organised, they are trying to provoke others and even encouraging strikes. It reminds me of the Trump era.
And today the Daily Express is all .... "class warfare" ... same as the bots. I assume the Daily Express is all automated these days and just uses an AI which is given target themes / messages to write about.

Would someone explain why with a desperate need for regenerative farming that we're abandoning "green crap" and reducing the landscape recovery fund from £800M to £50M? knightfrank.com/research/artic…
Just as a reminder, that "green crap" keeps us fed and we ignore regenerative farming and the damage that has been done to our soil at our peril -
It's wonderful to be invited to speak at conferences, however I'm not intending to do any in-person events especially those requiring international travel. The environmental cost makes no sense whatsoever. We need to adapt.
I can sort of understand (though I don't agree with) a management / leadership / strategy conference being face to face especially if many of the attendees and speakers are not comfortable with technology but I can't understand a technology conference being face to face.
Technology conferences should be leading the new world because it's based upon technology ... it should all be virtual. We should be adapting and not falling back to past patterns of behaviour.
X : I don't like your mapping.
Me : It's not really about liking, it's about whether you find it useful.
X : Well, you're very pro Amazon.
Me : AWS does a good job of focusing on industrialisation and I'm not sure why examples I choose would influence your view on the tool ...
... that's a bit like saying "I will only use a hammer if examples of use say nice things about me and not my competitors". There is an alternative, why not use maps and if you find it useful publish examples of your use, then I can talk about that.
X : We don't use maps.
Me : Ah
Me : So, you're not going to use mapping because I point to examples of people doing useful things with maps and some of those people are your competitors? Feels like cutting off your nose to spite your face.
X : When do you think COVID will be over?
Me : Why ask me? I studied genetics long ago and not virology. Anyway, the UK has chosen the path of endemic.
X : Which means?
Me : Constant vigilance, vaccinations and strict management to avoid outbreaks.
X : Are you saying it won't be over?
Me : We've decided to accept an "undetermined" amount of future harm. There will be harm. The virus isn't going to disappear. The path chosen is one of "living" with it. We decided against a path of zero covid.
X : Why?
Me : Well ....
Me : ... it's the same question for climate change. When making decisions we consider the needs of people today but not people tomorrow. We discount the future i.e. it has no voice. So, for example we might examine the cost of action and harms to people and the economy today ...
... this Government feels like a long running episode of only fools and horses starring ...
Boris "Del Boy" Johnson
Rishi "Rodders" Sunak
Grant "Trigger" Shapps
Priti "Marlene" Patel
Michael "Boycie" Gove
Elizabeth "Mickey" Truss
Rees "Grandad" Mogg
Anyway, a good counter to Shapps and his "class war" nonsense is -
