NEW: The DOJ says it's learned of an "overseas cargo shipment" headed for accused California Three Percenter Russell Taylor that contains two knives and two axes. Prosecutors note Taylor faces three felony charges for allegedly carrying a knife on Capitol grounds on Jan. 6.
This comes as Russell Taylor is asking Judge Lamberth to order his GPS ankle monitor removed. DOJ says modifying Taylor's release conditions, considering new allegation of shipment of knives and axes, would be "inappropriate."
Russell Taylor was one of six alleged Calif. Three Percenters indicted on multiple counts last summer in connection w/ the #CapitolRiot. He was also a board member of co-defendant Alan Hostetter's American Phoenix Project, which DOJ says promoted violence. wusa9.com/article/news/n…
Russell Taylor says in his motion to modify bond conditions that the ankle monitor is causing "painful liaisons" (intended to say lesions, presumably) and his doctor has recommended it be removed. [Redactions mine.]
SCOOP: The DOJ is now opposing taking the ankle monitor off an alleged California Three Percenter charged in the #CapitolRiot, saying FBI agents have learned an overseas shipment of knives and axes is headed toward his house. wusa9.com/article/news/n…

As the @January6thCmte is about to hear testimony about the alleged plan to replace acting AG Jeff Rosen with Jeffrey Clark, we're learning federal agents searched Clark's home in Lorton, Virginia, yesterday. wusa9.com/article/news/n…
Getting close to starting again. Down there in the bottom left corner you can see the officers who testified at the first J6 Committee Hearing last year. They've attended every one of these so far.
NEW: A Naval intelligence officer assigned to the NRO in Chantilly, Virginia, has been arrested on #CapitolRiot charges. In affidavit, FBI agents say he panic-bought arsenal of guns after Jan. 6 and praised the Unabomber, Olympic Park Bomber and Hitler. wusa9.com/article/news/n…
In affidavit, DOJ says Petty Officer First Class Hatchet Speech said he was studying the writings of "Unabomber" Ted Kaczynski and "Olympic Park Bomber" Eric Rudolph because he wanted to "come up with a better game plan than they had." Story: wusa9.com/article/news/n…
The FBI says Hatchet Speed also repeatedly expressed anti-Semitic views — praising jihadists and saying their approach would be an effective way to "wipe out" Jews and calling Adolf Hitler "one of the best people that's ever been on this Earth."
At 1 p.m. today we could learn whether the Proud Boys seditious conspiracy case will be delayed to December. DOJ and defense now both in agreement the August trial date won't work, since the Jan. 6th Committee is expected to release 1,000 witness transcripts in September.
If you subscribe to Capitol Breach, you read about this Friday. We know several members of the Proud Boys, including Tarrio, sat for interviews with the committee. So DOJ needs to see if what they told Congress lines up with what they've said to FBI/in court.
The hearing is getting underway. Judge Kelly says all the parties agree the trial date should be moved from August — although, actually Tarrio opposes it — saying, "I think this is the first thing everyone agrees on."
What we heard today was that Donald Trump was so involved in every level of this plan that he knew the names of individual county election workers. He was personally calling lawmakers to pressure them. And in at least one case, he threatened the possibility of criminal charges.
We heard from Rusty Bowers, speaker of the Arizona House, who said he told Trump twice he wouldn't do anything illegal for him. He felt Trump/Giuliani/Eastman wanted him to break his oath to the Constitution and to violate his Mormon faith. wusa9.com/article/news/n…
We heard from Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensberger and COO Gabriel Sterling about the pressure campaign to "find" votes in Georgia and the torrent of harassment and threats of violence they received when they wouldn't. wusa9.com/article/news/n…
The @January6thCmte is back at 1 p.m. today for a hearing focused on the plan to send slates of "alternate electors." Witnesses include Georgia Sec. of State Brad Raffensperger, who Trump told to "find" votes for him.
Today's first panel of witnesses have filed in. Hearing to start shortly.
Chairman @BennieGThompson says when Trump faced resistant from Pence, he turned to trying to get states to send "alternate electors." And when people wouldn't go along with that, he threatened them with retribution.
