Well crap, the Diamond Hogs lost and their season is over. Our home is definitely a baseball house and we try to make at least 1 game a year. This year was awesome because we went to Dickie-Stephens to watch the Arkansas Razorbacks (Diamond Hogs) play the University of Central
Arkansas (UCA) Bears. UCA is my Alma Matter so I got to yell "Go Bears" and make the claws while also calling The Hogs , "WPS" wearing mixed school items... So how did someone who was literally born a Husky (born at UW hospital) end up in Arkansas? Haha, that is a tale of bad
choices, addiction and not knowing who I was, where I belonged, or what the hell I was supposed to do with my life post army. I landed in Arkansas in rough shape, almost by accident and headed straight down. Luckily, once here I found the right people who helped me get lined out.
I got sober, got my degree, found love, got to be a father, husband and homeowner. I've been here over 20 years now and cannot imagine being anywhere else. I love this state. The people, the natural beauty and most importantly its role as the land of second chances. I showed up
alone, but others haven't. Just South of Fort Smith is Ft Chaffee. During WWII it trained armored divisions, but since then she has also become a landing pad for wave after wave of refugees from around the world: Marshall Islands, Vietnam, Cuba... They all started their second
chance journey here. Sadly, the world has a new refugee crisis. Although the news coverage has slowed down about the exodus of Ukrainians from the war zone, those people are still in limbo. Millions forced to flee and escape abroad or simply seek shelter in communities farther
West. Almost 2 million more were deported and "filtered" by Russia including almost 300,000 children in a blatant war crime that Russian media is proudly proclaiming to the world. This is intolerable and we must make sure that Russia's aggression is defeated. While Arkansas is
the land of second chances, Ukraine just wants a chance to be the Western Democracy she is. They are now an EU candidate state and possess all the human capital and natural drive to make this dream a reality, Russia stands in the way. Recently Putin's imperial ambitions have
put two more cities in the Donbass under the yoke of Russian tyranny. However, if we provide the arms, economic and political support she needs this is just temporary. Russia must be ejected from Ukraine. That is the goal, victory for Ukraine on Ukrainian terms over all of
Ukrainian territory. This is why I write every single day tagging @JohnBoozman, @SenTomCotton and @RepFrenchHill Its why I listen in and speak up @walter_report and why I donate to @MriyaAid and why I call on my readers to do the same. Hopefully, someday soon the war will be
over and a Ukrainian I met on twitter will come to Arkansas and I can take them to a game to "Call The Hogs". They laugh, think its ridiculous but have the time of their life. Hope springs eternal so lets make it happen. #Arkansas #Ukraine #UkraineRussiaWar
PS, @OKCityRyan since the Diamond Hogs are out and I know at least one Sooners fan is also running around like me yelling "Slava Ukraini" I'll be a Sooners fan for the next few days.

So a tightly wound thread that will not end where it started. Now that the HIMARS is in action we have the questions: now what and How effective are these things?
Here is the reported results of the first strike thanks @cjdrew94 and @TrentTelenko is saying it was the HQ of the 20th CAA. Fingers crossed its more dead generals.
These results were 60km-ish behind the front lines. The immediate impact is now anything that close to the front line is now in danger from more than partisans or small drones. It does not matter if they are targeted or not, anything and anyone who thinks the Ukrainians consider

Wow, what a day yesterday was! Ok, that is pretty much the long and the short of my comments on SCOTUS. I opened this account in 2011, left it, got it hacked, got it back, posted a couple times about the Ford Bronco and left it again not coming back and turning into my daily
Ukraine page until Russia invaded. It was Ukraine that brought me here and Ukraine is why I try and push out high quality original writing every day that hopefully inspires and/or informs in a way you my readers can relate to. Though my ultimate audience is Arkansas' delegation
to Washington DC @JohnBoozman @SenTomCotton and @RepFrenchHill since they have such a critical role in helping Ukraine expel Russia and end the genocide. But my readers, every one of you matter to me as well. Domestic politics can only distract us. So I am avoiding them here.

Tick, tick, tick, tick.... The second hand never stops marching. Its now June 23rd and its getting hot all over the Northern Hemisphere. In Ukraine its full on campaign season, nearly the middle of it in fact. Campaign season being roughly the beginning of May to the beginning of
October. These 5 months is the only real time of year when a military planner can more or less assume dry unfrozen ground. Sure you can fight in the snow, but it sucks for a whole host of reasons. Frost bite, lack of concealment, increased fuel and caloric requirements, hard
ground that is difficult to dig into... Its even worse once things start to thaw. In fact, Ukraine's initial survival and ability to rally may be due in large part to Putin's epic blunder to invade at the start of the muddy season. Mud gave much of Ukraine a chance to rally.

So, morning everyone. Today will be a heavier topic than yesterday and you can't haul it in a truck. Lets talk about war crimes. Yesterday @PeterBDoran published an article in @Telegraph on Russian war crimes. I want to unpack the concept of war crimes in modern historical
terms using lay language. The subject of what is and what is not a war crime can get very confusing. For example, under the existing laws of war the atomic bombings of Japan were not war crimes. That does not make them moral, just legal under a reading of the law. Yet the recent
videos we saw of Russian POW's calling mom to let her know they were alive are very clearly war crimes even though in many ways they were moral, and no one died. So, on one hand hundreds of thousands of dead/wounded are not, but zero dead/wounded are... It can get confusing.

Good morning, ready to have a discussion about an estimate of a ballpark number that has almost no hard data points but is nevertheless an important attempt to showcase what must be a massive amount of numbers? Lets talk Russian logistics. Again, I am not a professional
logistician, just a truck driver/ ex tanker with some idea of the scale and nature of the problems involved. So first there are reports that Russia is firing up to 60K shells/rockets a day. taskandpurpose.com/news/russia-ar…
I don't think that is every day so for this thread I am going to cut that number in half and estimate a sustained fire of 30k a day for this discussion. Now some shells like squad mortars are only a few pounds, but Iskanders weight tons. The 152mm artillery shell weights about

So another thread on Ukraine, but a bit of a twist. What kind of country is Ukraine? If they want our support I think this is an important question. Well here is todays example of they really are a western democracy

In the middle of a genocidal war they decide, "hey lets not forget to lay the foundations for the world we want post war". Besides being good for women and kids, it shows that Ukrainians believe that they will be here post-war despite Putin's efforts to eradicate them.
Putin's efforts are definitely not good for kids as this photo from yesterday clearly shows. Imagine being that dad? He is just one of thousands in Ukraine right now
