Has any media historian written about the history of the 24-hour news chyron? #HATH
It bears repeating that none of the people who worked for Trump, and who are now coming forward, are heroes of democracy. The evidence that Trump was a threat to the country was abundant before his election. They are testifying to save their own skin. #HATH
Cassidy Hutchinson says Giuliani told her on Jan. 2 that Jan. 6 would be a "great" day. "We're going to the Capitol."

Meadows told her "things might get real, real bad on January 6."

Testifies that at that moment she felt "scared" about what would happen that day.

#HATH
Hutchinson testifies that intelligence reports prior to Jan. 6 noted the potential for violence, and that Trump supporters would primarily target Congress itself. #HATH
Radio transmissions played by Jan. 6 Committee details the weapons carried by Trump supporters participating in the attempted coup. #HATH
Hutchinson testifies that Mark Meadows didn't even initially look up from his phone when told the list of weapons carried by Trump supporters.

Meadows "did not act" on the concerns expressed about the armed insurrectionists. #HATH
Testifies that President wanted all the attendees to be able to attend his Stop the Steal rally without passing through security or having their weapons confiscated by the Secret Service.
Trump: "Take the f-ing mags away. They're not here to hurt me."
#HATH
Cassidy Hutchinson testifies that after Trump declared he would accompany the crowd to the Capitol on Jan. 6, her boss (Mark Meadows) called her and angrily accused her of "lying" to him bc he said she had assured him she would make sure Trump didn't go to the Capitol.
#HATH
Holy shit. When an aide told Trump in a vehicle that they were not going to the Capitol, Cassidy Hutchinson testifies that Trump became enraged, and "lunged" at the aide and tried to grab the wheel.
#HATH
Hutchinson now testifies that this is not the first instance where Trump threw a violent fit when he became angry. Corroborated by Barr in recorded testimony. #HATH
Hutchinson testifies that Meadows wanted to attend a meeting at the Willard Hotel "War Room" on Jan. 5. #HATH
God Michael Flynn is such a piece of shit. #HATH
Cassidy Hutchinson: Pat Cipollone tells Mark Meadows on Jan. 6 that the rioters had breached the Capitol, and that "something needs to be done" or people are going to die "and the blood is going to be on your f-ing hands." #HATH
Trump says Pence deserved to be hanged, that the attackers "were not doing anything wrong," as @RepLizCheney summarizes. #HATH
This testimony demonstrates that Trump clearly knew the crowd was armed, he knew they were going to target the Capitol, he knew and encouraged the assault and even endorsed threats against his own VP. He even desperately, violently wanted to accompany the rioters.
#HATH
But for me, this raises a question about people like Hutchinson: why were they surprised that Trump was a violent, authoritarian megalomaniac? It was so clear that Trump abuses, demeans, and lies. It is who he is. Why did they agree to work one minute for him? #HATH

I'm nowhere in the same galaxy as @agordonreed or @jbf1755 and never will be. But it is still staggering to me how different my experience is with them, and with so many women and people of color. I've never experienced this, even once.
I've posted in the past about the luxury of obscurity. To be honest it's so wonderful to be free from condescending missives from insecure people. To know that your work isn't deemed important enough for someone to take the time to talk down to you.
This is a luxury that I'm embarrassed to admit I really hadn't thought much about until quite recently. Of course, that's because it's always been a part of my experience.

As an educator, I find so much to be excited about in this ambitious policy agenda from @POTUS
I do think, though, that free community college shouldn't *just* be framed as preparation for the workforce, but the continuing of one's education

So many of my students are obviously concerned about finding well-paying work. That's why they're pursuing a degree. But if the last 4+ years have taught us anything, it's that our democracy needs educated citizens. That means courses in the humanities and social sciences. 2/
Students take these courses at community colleges like @NOVAcommcollege, but often report to me that there was so much they didn't learn about American history that they wish they had learned. 3/
