🇨🇦 Another clue as to what causes breathlessness in #LongCovid
34 patient study, 12 hospitalised with Covid, 24 not.
9 month Long Covid.
MRI scan showing issues with how tiny branches of air tubes in the lungs were moving oxygen into the red blood cells globalnews.ca/news/8950820/l…
“Red blood cells are responsible for transporting oxygen from the lungs to the rest of the body. Any disruption in the flow of this oxygen to red blood cells will trigger the brain to say, ‘breathe more’ — resulting in a feeling of breathlessness”
“All 34 of the patients who participated in the study were experiencing problems in the level of oxygen being absorbed by their red blood cells.
And they all had the same result, regardless of the severity of their symptoms or whether they had been hospitalized for COVID-19”
The article is silent as to vax status at the time of infection.
And there is no link to the study to fill in the gaps.
H/t @Indy259 for the link to the study which suggests that the cohort was recruited from a quaternary-care COVID-19 clinic between April and October 2021.
So, if 9m with #Long Covid at recruitment, likely infected prior to vaccination.
4 takeaways about Trump from Cassidy Hutchinson's Jan. 6 hearing testimony - The Washington Post
Trump knew that his supporters had come armed to the teeth & was mad that the Secret Service wasn’t letting these armed supporters through security washingtonpost.com/politics/2022/…
After the speech, Trump got back in his heavily fortified limousine and literally tried to wrestle the steering wheel away from the head of his Secret Service detail to go to the Capitol. (Secret Service decided it was too dangerous.)
6 yrs ago “I’d put money on you not imagining a PM capable of interpreting 2 disastrous byelections as a mandate to carry on for 2 further terms. If only The Convict had lost a few more byelections, then he could’ve nominated himself as president for life” theguardian.com/politics/2022/…
“Truss’s gullibility is almost endearing. She lives in a tabula rasa world where every day starts again anew. She is in a permanent state of forgetting.”
“So when it was repeatedly pointed out to her that The Convict had insisted that his Brexit deal was compatible with the Good Friday agreement, she could only stick her fingers in her ears and start humming to herself.”
Russia defaults on Foreign debts having narrowly swerved it in preceding months.
The bonds on which the payment was missed allow their holders to declare a default if 25pc agree non-payment has occurred.
Russia claims it isn’t a true default. It would.
“Documents attached to the debt instruments give three years for a claim to occur – meaning some investors may wait to see whether Russia is rehabilitated into the global financial system during that time.“
“If they do take action, doing so through the legal system could prove difficult because Moscow has said it will reject the jurisdiction of any foreign court”
What about the frozen 🇷🇺 Central Bank reserves?
One hope the bonds specify a legal jurisdiction other than 🇷🇺
At least 23 African migrants were killed in the latest drama on the doorstep of the European Union, when 2,000 mostly Sub-Saharan African migrants approached Morocco's border with the tiny territory at dawn on Friday.
“The company collapsed like a house of cards, punctuated by a final lie: that €1.9bn of its cash was “missing”. In fact, the money never existed and Wirecard had for years relied on a fraud that was almost farcical in its simplicity:”
“a few friends of the company claimed to manage huge amounts of business for Wirecard, with all the vast profits from these partners said to be collected in special bank accounts overseen by a Manila-based lawyer with a YouTube following.”
Wakefield predictable but Tiverton & Honiton has to overturn a majority of 24k+.
A huge ask.
There are only 40 Tory seats that have larger majorities than Tiverton and Honiton, so if LDs win, taken with Chesham and N Shropshire that looks like a strong strong trend.
