"The experiment that could have created this virus (insert the furin cleavage site that makes SARS-CoV-2 a pandemi) is described in this grant proposal (DEFUSE)". Good by Sachs to finally bring this to mainstream attention. Demand better from the zoo crew. jeffsachs.org/interviewsandm…
The #OriginOfCovid is important, but more urgent may be the Origin of Omicron and future VOCs. Parliamentary fact-finding and investigation needed. For many reasons we need to know what we face asap. Virologists, you need to address all this transparently.
Many people will be shocked to learn more details, but it can’t be helped if we want to stop this vicious circle of denial and dysfunction about present dynamics. It’s not a flu 😅

Complex systems behave in counterintuitive ways. Humans don’t naturally reflect global dynamics - we never needed to. Now powerful feedbacks will kick us around like Arsenal London balls in training until the last schoolchild intuitively knows this. 💁

@Unusual_Times illustrates
Time and again, precisely this. Until we learn. donellameadows.org/archives/lever…
SARS-CoV-2 exerts pressure on society, not just individuals. It will select for forms of governance that facilitate rapid learning. Perhaps counterintuitively, collective measures will maximize freedoms for individuals.

It will select out forms of governance that don’t learn.

The Unthinkable: In seeing climate as a problem of law and language, we don't just mean cases like West Virginia v. EPA. Science literacy in the west was too low to suppress/eliminate SARS-CoV-2 to date and is creating a positive feedback on literacy itself. This is serious folks

Hi all, please reflect COVID policy dynamics. China studied SARS-CoV-1 and concluded SARS-CoV-2 is unsafe for 1.4 billion people. This tells us it's unsafe for 7 billion.

Given Omicron's rate of transmission, we are creating a fast evolving super pathogen. Be VERY careful now. Image
Some claim there is no persuasive data that SARS2 infection damages the immune system (virologist). Others gaslight even more brazenly (immunologist).

It's pretty insane - I didn't see this coming. But we see denial in all societies, even China.

What's coming may be confusing. ImageImage
SARS-CoV-2 is a flu (no pun intended) compared to climate breakdown, my actual focus.

I don't know where this is going. I guess, good luck us, stay sane. Reach out if you want to address these problems.

It's all we can do. We don't get to choose, so need to mitigate both risks. Image

I don't even know what to say. Look at the comments here: If you all don't understand the basic dynamics of SARS-CoV-2, how can we help?
If western palliative pleasure purchasing policy continues unmitigated for another five years, which new superpowers will SARS-CoV-2 assemble?

Omicron BA.5 will hit hard, it is a syncytial virus. I’m tired of the downplaying even by leading, kind voices like @c_drosten. You all need to start comparing SARS-CoV-2 to Ebola/MERS/SARS, not the flu. It will never be endemic, this virus is not built to coexist with humans.
I assume many people off twitter who previously trusted public health authorities to get it mostly right and saw us as overly cautious, not to mention what friends/family etc. called us 😅, may rethink now or be overwhelmed. Please focus if you can. Complexity will escalate fast.

#SARSCoV2 will never be endemic or mild. We knew this already in 2021. What think tanks analyze how we can sustain society—health sector, education, economy; how to work, live or raise kids—in the coming years? Few address these urgent questions. - China scholars, if no one else?
I agree with Thorsten here, zero Covid (no Covid) never found elite and popular support in the west. Most think there is no alternative to universal SARS-CoV-2 infection.

This implies universal autoimmunity in the west. Is there no alternative? @c_drosten Image
