The party should always be evolving and it is. It is filled with smart women, Black folks, LGBTQIA. People willing to work. The party is not perfect but it does not need to bend to the will of disaffected Bernie supporters. And that’s what this fight is really about.
This not about “fight” or a “plan” or “meeting the moment” or none of that shit. This is about a calculated effort to take over a party that rejected them. It’s happening on multiple fronts and either you get that or you don’t. Either you see it or you won’t.
I do not want a "fighter." I don't want politicians always on Twitter "fighting" about something. I want workers. People willing to put in the time and sweat equity. Don't tell me your plans. Get in there and work for them. Show me your history of turning your plans into action.
I do not want a party where we replace Rep. Clyburn because he made the unpardonable sin of ending Bernie's second failed presidential campaign. That's what this fight is about it. Not some gerontocracy. But a purge of older Democrats they want to replace with young Berners.
The problem is a good majority of the progressive left that was all in for Bernie equates Democratic failures as a winning strategy for them. So they're fueling a lot of toxic narratives on purpose. Some folks see it. Some don't. But it's there and it's been there for a minute.
Shortly after Biden won, Brie Brie, Nina Turner, Walker Bragman and AOC immediately we're trying to muddle the waters so we'd lose the Senate seats in Georgia. And as soon as we won those seats they started yelling that Biden had "promised" $2600 when Manchin balked at that.
So at the infancy of Biden's administration, we had him dealing with the dilemma of Manchin and what he'd agree to and what he wouldn't. These same progressives took that and started pushing the narrative Biden was "breaking his campaign promises." This is what the fight is about
Biden's campaign supported student debt reform, Medicare expansion & climate change reform. Once he won progressives took that to demand passage of #M4A#GND#CancelStudentDebt then sidelined Black voters, took credit for his victory and demanded his allegiance to Bernie's agenda
This fight isn't about the competency of President Biden and the Democratic Party. It's really not even about how they deal with criticism. It's about people dealing in bad faith and pushing narratives to garner power. This is a power grab. It's really that simple.

The paradigm is not "old vs new politics" between progressives and Democrats. That's not the appropriate dichotomy. It's "effective vs. performative." For all the criticism of incremental progress I don't see any progress from progressives. It's all esoteric praise for "fighting"
Or it's blame-shifting. Or taking all the credit while refusing to take none of the blame. I see that too much from certain progressives. Everything is everybody's fault except theirs. That's something to consider when considering the nature of their criticism.
For example progressives blamed liberals and Obama for the overturning of Roe. They blamed him for not forcing RBG to retire (as if McConnell would've allowed him to fill the seat anyway) and then they cherrypicked a comment from a random press conference
Starting a random music thread because today has been a lot. The infighting against certain progressives and voices on the left along with Republicans trying to subvert our democracy has us burning both ends of the candle. Let's chill with some good tunes
The only thing I hate about AOC is her attempts to sabotage and sandbag the party. All her other extracurricular stuff doesn't bother me. It's the fact she's trying to force Bernie's platform down the throat of a party that doesn't want it. She's just doing it in a subtle way.
And I've lost many followers for that. Many people think she's the best thing that hit politics in a long time. I can't see it. And I can't look past that. I don't care how smart or how savvy she is on social media. She's an interloper.
I say this because she positioned herself as some political consultant to the party and the President. This is not a role she's qualified to be in. She's also pretty resistant to learning from more experienced politicians. And that's a big red flag for me.
Since we're talking about @Jerone4Congress and his pretty hilariously stupid ad about defending himself from "Democrats in Klan hoods" I'll just point out the KKK endorsed Trump for President.
