Aiming for #match2023 with my updated profile. Hi everyone, I am Usman. I am currently working as a research associate at the Department of Medicine, Northwell Health. I have a US clinical research experience of 18 months with 25 publications, including posters 1/3 Image
and conference abstracts. I have experience of working on COVID-19 clinical research projects including J&J vaccine. Other prominent projects include HIV Rapid ART Study, RSV Vaccine trial and Post-Covid Clinic. I have recently been done with Step3 too. 2/3

🔍Of 1627 adults, 634 (39%) had a known diagnosis of type 2 diabetes, and among 993 patients with no diabetes, 107 (10.8%) patients were identified with elevated HbA1c levels and/or admission hyperglycemia. Image
➡️Patients with elevated HbA1c levels and/or admission hyperglycemia had increased odds of developing acute in-hospital cardiovascular events, intensive care unit admissions, and mortality (OR, 1.77; 95% CI, 1.02-3.07) compared to patients with type 2 diabetes and no diabetes. Image
🎯Patients with elevated HbA1c levels and/or admission hyperglycemia hospitalized with SARS-CoV-2 pneumonia have increased risk of developing acute in-hospital cardiovascular complications and overall poor clinical outcomes compared with patients with type 2 diabetes and no DM.
