I just watched The Princess Bride for the first time.

Inigo Montoya boat stances made me feel limber just watching them!

Wesley being pissed off that the princess for being engaged after five years is the best version of "so what if I'm late" ever!

This line needs to be taught in school:

What a minute... HIS NAME WAS WESTLEY, NOT WEASLEY?

That moment she says "Move? You're alive. If you want, I can fly" made me want to write an entire romance trilogy.

Are we gonna talk about that climbing the rope scene? ARE WE???

Sometimes, if you're struggling on a scene transition, you just need everyone to roll down a hill.

Look, I know her name is Buttercup, but she was literally as useful as a plastic My Little Pony when the R.O.U.S attacked Westley. Watchya doing?!

"I don’t think they exist." *CUE ATTACK* 🤣

When he said "Well, I’m not saying I’d like to build a summer home here, but the trees are actually quite lovely" and she gave him that look, I thought they could have been a couple married for 20yrs.

I've made that Wife Glare many a time.

Inigo and Westley chatting and becoming friends before they have to duel is the exact moment I knew I was going to adore this film.

Vizzini's logic to work out which drink is poisoned is exactly what my brain sounds like when I'm overthinking something.

It also taught me that overthinking will one day kill me.

Sidenote: the "I've been dosing myself to build immunity" twist was so lazy, I love it.

I was a bra fitter for 7 years and I NEVER used this line!!! Criminal.

That priest!!! MAWWIAGE. Dweam wifin a dweam. Monty Python class of laughter. How did anyone in that scene keep a straight face?

Westley head flopping is A++++++++ comedy and I will never not laugh. Why is no one selling Westley style flailing inflatable tube men???

When Westley said to Fezzik "Rest well and dream of large women" I actually squealed so hard I made my hubby jump. I was just so happy to be represented!

It's now how I will sign off on all my texts.

"Oh god no! Inigo's going to die!"

*10 minutes later*

"Well, he's still bleeding a lot, but he seems fine now. Running pretty fast. Oh, is he about to jump out a window? Yep. Riding a horse now."

There's a bit when Westley, when questioned on his mask says "They're terribly comfortable. I think everyone will be wearing them in the future."

That felt like a missed mask campaign opportunity in these pandemic times. 😬

Pitch room:

"I'm worried the torture scenes might clash with the tone of the movie."

"Hmm. What if we add a Price Is Right style pain lever?"

"You son of a bitch, let's do it."

Stop telling your kids to 'have a nice day' when you drop them off at school! Stop it.

Instead, we should all be saying...

When Fezzik said "you've been mostly dead all day" I... I just... it's... it's the most perfect line for about 70% of all conversations I have.

"Oh Westley, I'm married."
"Nah nah nah. Did you say 'I do?'"
"Why no I didn't."
"Fuckin' loophole."
"Wait.. you weren't even there. How did you know-"
"Loop. Hole."

Holy crap, that bit with Buttercup and the King?!? So sweet and then..

"What was that for?"
"This is the last time I'll see you. I'm going to kill myself."
"Yeah that's nice. HAY WIFE I JUST GOT MYSELF A HOT GIRL KISS."

Westley can lie in bed and bluff his way out of a duel with the Prince, and I can't fake sounding sick when I call work to pull a sickie.

I will never, in a million and five years, be onboard with a remake. NEVER.

But a Dread Pirate Roberts spinoff series🤔...

Okay, I know I've been going for a while now. I could keep going for a long time (believe me), but I'm going to go to bed and dream about the movie.
