Bob Ney: Some of these candidates won't go up against the grain that Trump has created. @bobney
Bob Ney: This is not federalization of the election--I'm not saying to do that, but there are ways that the states can be held accountable to make it easier for people to vote instead of harder for people to vote. (con't) @bobney
Bob Ney: (con't) If you don't have standards for making it easier for people to vote, it becomes fraudulent. @bobney
Bob Ney: There are two separate issues here: Voter purges, which most are a flawed process & are done irresponsibly with bad data, & disenfranchisement. And where do you fight it, especially on Election Day? @bobney
Rick: Now Repubs are training people to be poll workers, not just poll watchers. That's dangerous. #RickShow
Bob Ney: The only reason Bannon is on trial is b/c they didn't go through the usual antiquated system to get an indictment.
Rick: The Justice Dept, for the 1st time, is asking for a sentence for one of the Three Percenters. They're asking for a 15-yr sentence. @bobney
Rick: The House is talking about codifying marriage equality into law b/c of Clarence Thomas on the Court.
Bob Ney: It's a brilliant idea; 71% of Americans support same-sex marriage. Abortion should have been codified years ago when they had a majority. @bobney
Bob Ney: Certain groups are getting soft on the President, such as Latinos & Asians. @bobney
Bob Ney: This will be a tight election in the fall. The fall of Roe isn't enough politically; there needs to be accountability for other issues as well, & the Dems should be working on them. @bobney

Greg Palast: They've got the money but we've got the people.
Rick: That's why I've said, that we've outprocreated the Repubs.
Greg: That's why they use voter suppression to steal our votes. @Greg_Palast
Greg Palast: There's a new voter law in GA, SB-202, signed by their gov., that says any voter there can challenge any other voter there, & there's no limit to the # of challenges. I spoke w/ one woman who made 32,000 challenges just in Cobb County, GA. @Greg_Palast
Greg Palast: This woman--a Repub--who challenged all the Biden voters didn't contact the people before she challenged them. She didn't even print out her list of challenges--she submitted a thumb drive. I can't make this stuff up. @Greg_Palast
Will Bunch: The Jan 6th Committee has been really good at drumming up public interest. I've seen how Repubs have turned politics into a show.
Rick: That's why I think this is all Liz Cheney, using the Repub media playbook. @Will_Bunch
Will Bunch: I think Clarence & Ginni Thomas are Exhibit A in other things that can be done in addition to taking down Trump. The hearings are a show but they're a show telling the truth. @Will_Bunch
Will Bunch: It's easy to get cynical & think that nothing will bring Trump down but I see these hearings are making headway in peeling people away from Trump. @Will_Bunch
Caller Kurt, Akron: I have to agree with you about the lack of education of kids in school. Ever since Reagan's Educ. Sec'y, we've had 2 1/2 generations of kids who don't study civics in school.
Rick: All kinds of social consciousness were taken out of school. #RickShow
Caller Kurt, Akron: What else will happen in the future if we lose the right to vote? Will we have "civil rights workers" registering people to vote? #RickShow
Caller Kurt, Akron: Kent State has a walking tour of the events leading up to the shooting on May 4, 1970. #RickShow
Anthony, Colton, CA, via email: Why do you pay someone else to represent you?
Rick: I've been a union member for over 30 yrs. I've spent probably $20k on dues. What have I gotten in return? (con't) #RickShow@1932teamsters@Teamsters#1u
Rick: (con't) Superior wages. The best health insurance out there, at no cost to me, as negotiated by my union. There are members of Congress who envy my good healthcare coverage. #RickShow@1932teamsters@Teamsters#1u
Rick: (con't) I'm protected on my job, & I'm not subject to "Be a doer, not a due-er."
My contemporaries don't pay dues but they get lower wages & have to pay part or all of their own healthcare. #RickShow@1932teamsters@Teamsters#1u
Greg LeRoy: We shouldn't be giving public dollars to companies that break laws, especially Labor laws. Why isn't cheating people's paychecks treated with equal importance as breaking other laws that can get companies in trouble? @GregLeRoy4@GoodJobsFirst@1932teamsters
Greg LeRoy: If you look at the issue of state & corporate welfare at the local level, Amazon opened a local development office that was a tax break more than anything. They signed about 20 contracts a year. @GregLeRoy4@GoodJobsFirst@1932teamsters
Rick: Look at the HQ2 scam Amazon did. It cost taxpayers huge amts of money, & Amazon was never going to Dubuque, IA, or to Pittsburgh, PA, but they dangled the carrot in front of every community in the nation, saying to send their info to Amazon. #RickShow@1932teamsters
Bob Ney: The reporter should have asked how the senator would have set up the hearing process. You can't take away human nature about what you think about people. If someone has a great philosophy but they aren't qualified, they should be turned down. @bobney
Bob Ney: It was disingenuous to attack Ketanji Brown Jackson for anyone she defended. Everyone knows public defenders are given a client & they must defend them. @bobney
Bob Ney: I don't think Supreme Court hearings are going to go back to what happened years ago. Now it's like advocacy groups go crazy. @bobney
