@OpBlackVote@LabourBlackWom1@CLSUK1974@labourblacksoc1@socialistsunday We think it's fair to expect? No, actually, as socialists, we think it's a fundamental principle demand that @TheLabourParty_ be a shining example of race equality and opportunity for Black people. This report shows that the party neither values nor respects its Black members.
Here's the damming evidence of the deep cultural dysfunctionality of the party administration that advocates for equality and justice, as a means of masking a horrific internal culture that cultivates a white perspective on racism that prioritised anti-semitism above all else.
Here is the evidence of preformative, cosmetic anti-racism by @TheLabourParty_ administration that at its most senior levels is almost a totally white political regime, and all white spaces, lead to black disgraces.
It's the same theme repeated over and over again. London is the most hyperdiverse city in the world with a population that looks like the future. In stark contrast, Labour's regional team looks like a throwback to the 1950s.
That old 2/3rd human plantation rule has now become a cultural norm. Black communities are not shocked but are deeply embarrassed and angry that such a culture should be allowed to exist, much less flourish in the @TheLabourParty_
Here's how it works for us. Eminently qualified, routinely passed over.
Entrenched 'socialist' white privilege and black disadvantage in the Labour Party.
The slack habits and old legacies of colonialism loom large in the party. First, there's the colonial offence; secondly, the assumption that pubs are socialising spaces for all faiths and ethnicities; thirdly, there's the drinking culture. It feels like a 'hostile environment.'
The @TheLabourParty_ culture of institutional racism, sexism, and Islamophobia needs to be acknowledged just like Labours demands the new Met Commissioner does likewise. First rule of anti-racism is an honest acknowledgement of the issues and a programme of black empowerment.
And our very own @MarshadeCordova and @Keir_Starmer most senior black politician at the time, voted with her feet and resigned in protest once she saw the vacuous nature of Labour's paper-thin commitment to deal equality. voice-online.co.uk/news/2021/09/1…
And here, in all its performative, cosmetic anti-racist glory, is the opportunistic and transactional nature of Labour's declared commitment to anti-racism labour.org.uk/press/labour-d…
And just to add insult to injury - this is Baroness Lawrence's report on the effects of Covid -19 and the wider issue of systemic racism making powerful recommendations to @UKLabour none of which have been heard of since. lawrencereview.co.uk
And here is @Keir_Starmer speaking with Doreen Lawrence on racism. His warm words in this interview and the stone-cold realities of culture in Labour are light years apart.

So 🧵Tory Cllr Raymond Connelly seeks to defend his racist wife. She pleaded guilty to violent racism but isn’t a racist? She stood firm in her views in immediate aftermath, yet we are expected to believe she’s not racist? That’s Brexit logic writ large.
He says his family have been ‘traumatised’ yet his wife called for migrants to be burned in thier beds. When asked if she accepts that the tweet was racist, he responds: “She’s not that person. I’m not too sure, really. She’s not that person; she’s probably the opposite.”
She explicitly stated she didn’t care if she labeld racist stating if her comments made her racist ‘so be it.’ “You can’t upset anybody; you can’t say that because that’s racist; can’t say that because that’s Islamophobic. No, it’s just fact. If it’s fact, how can it be racist?’
A thread on the English #RaceRiots. In assessing the aftermath and wrecked lives and smouldering Mosques left behind after the worst English race riots since Nottingham in 1958, it's time to speak some unpalatable and maybe unpopular truths.
If this was the Black or Asain riot's disadvantage and long-term poverty, we want to acknowledge the geographic, demographic, and economic context, as a plausible contextual explanation would be writ large. Lack of education and long-term unemployment would undoubtedly feature.
Rightly so. It is no less true now. Ignorance breeds where poverty reigns. The fact is North has suggested austerity and cuts for decades, unleashed ironically enough, by the doyen of right wing neo liberalism, Tory PM Margret Thatcher, who decimated mining and cotton industries
A 🧵Question: Why do the British labour and @TUCEquality movements almost exclusively fund @SWP or @hopenothate led anti racism?
Answer : These are white led anti racist movements. There is no interest or support on the left for independent Black and Asian led anti racism.
The Labour movements white led form of anti racism is today extractive, largely performative and reactionary. Centred around set piece rucks with Tommy or Nigel the Labour movement prefers this ‘traditional white led’ workerist type of intervention.
This ensure it maintains control and controls the messaging. Of course they show out on immigration and policing issues generally but those interventions are largely seen as opportunities for cadre building and recruitment. These interventions don’t build Black or Asian capacity
A🧵on #RaceRiot Sunday. As a Black
community we always knew that when the white working class figured out they were lied to over Brexit their impotence would result in them blaming Muslims. Blacks, asylum seekers anyone but the ruling class and the bankers. So said, so done.
Supported by a supine press the right wing have sought to demonize Islam and launched full-scale ideological war on the woke. Unfortunately over the last 14 years Labour concessions to this racist agenda have had the effect of legitimising racist sentiment. Brexit was the killer.
It fundamentally reshaped and gave credence to xenophobia and racist sentiment as being the legitimate concerns of the white working class shaped by a constant negative and hostile media agenda. Labour went along with that view on immigration, on policing, on foreign aid.
So @metpoliceuk set up Boombox music shop using black undercover officers to lure in young Black people with freebies and inducements, then casually asked them to get drugs for their influential music mates. 35 convicted. Straight up entrapment #Boomboxapple.news/AWWXUbtTjSRiBu…
These tactics are still being used. There are over 10k paid Black active criminal informants in the paid employ of the Met. There are millions spent on setting up undercover youth groups, food shops, Barbers and hairdressers to entrap black youth. Disgusting and unethical
Not one African Caribbean individual or community organisation has been consulted or involved in the recruitment process for the New Met Commissioner. This is in a city where 2m people are of African descent. bit.ly/3ablzeM@ukhomeoffice@CollegeofPolice@TheVoiceNews
This is a fundamental error when considering the profound crisis in relations between the @metpoliceuk and London's African, Asian and Caribbean communities. A group of predominantly white men will be responsible for assessing the two candidates' understanding of institutional...
..racism and let's remind ourselves institutional racism is a reality that is totally rejected by @BorisJohnson@pritipatel and @kitmalthouse The @MayorofLondon is more sympathetic but even he has been sidelined in this whole process rendered silent by his @TfL budget crisis...
