As you watch tonight’s mid-season ending to the #Jan6thHearings. There’s a trove of stories we’ve done at @Local4News and @clickondetroit showing just how central Michigan was to the plot to overturn the election. A thread:
Starting in the days after the election, it was clear Michigan votes would be at issue after Rudy Giuliani called out Wayne county and Detroit in one of his earliest press conferences. 1/

Trump also summoned the leaders of Michigan’s legislature to the Oval Office as his people were pushing for states to overrule their voters. We still don’t know what they talked about. When I asked I was sung to.

Deep looks at the claims of election fraud in Michigan we’re done and they were found to be untrue, repeatedly. Even in the early days of the fight over the election. 3/

Giuliani was then asked to testify on the Michigan House floor. He repeated lies and false claims. He wasn’t asked to be under oath. 4/

Among the first of many lawsuits in Michigan and more than 5 dozen nationwide was struck down in early Dec. of 2020. Just a few days before certification by the state legislature. 5/

Still 16 Republicans signed their names to forged certification documents and sent them to Washington to create confusion. They even plotted to hide in the MI Capitol to go through with it. 6/

As the inauguration got closer, court cases in MI continued, namely from “Kraken” legal team including Sidney Powell who was sanctioned and is facing disbarment 7/

And then on Jan. 6 members of Michigan’s congressional delegation said they wouldn’t certify the election. In the end, after the attack, 3 of them still didn’t vote to certify.

NOW: James and Jennifer Crumbley are being arraigned in Michigan's 52nd district court. LIVE on @Local4News and @clickondetroit
At several points during his arraignment, James Crumbley shakes his head and appears to laugh at several of the facts of the case, including the text from his wife to their son after he was caught searching ammo at school. "lol. i'm not mad. you have to learn not to get caught."
Jennifer Crumbley, who has been sitting a little ways away from the camera but could be heard crying as they were reading the names of the victims.

Beaumont Press conference on the 4th wave and the 3rd military team to help with 620 covid patients. It's about a 200% increase since 9/30 hospital president Dave Claeys says.
He says the hospitals, ERs and ICUs are at or just about at capacity. He says there's worry this surge will surpass anything we've seen during the pandemic so far.
He says 75% of patients are unvaccinated. most are over 60 yrs old. 78% of ICU beds are unvaccinated and 80% of those are on ventilators.

Press conference with the @KarenMcDonaldMI Oakland co. Prosecutor about to start. She's charging the parents of the accused Oxford shooter with involuntary manslaughter. Carries a sentence of up to 15 years in prison and a $7500 fine under MI law. @Local4News @clickondetroit
Drawings of a deeply troubled child were fond by a teacher. "Help me. My life is useless." were written on the drawings. The parents then left Ethan at the school and he was returned to class. They never inspected his backpack for a gun.
at 1:22, a full half hour after the shooting began, Jenn Crumbley texted her son "Ethan don't do it." and then his father, who purchased the gun for him just days before, called the gun in as missing and believed his son was the shooter.

At the testimony hearing for the bill that would ban employer vaccine mandates, Chair Beth Griffin says people have called her office in tears and calls reporting about the vaccine, "one sided and censored" about "emerging" covid science 1/
She's also said repeatedly that both the vaccinated and unvaccinated can catch and spread the virus, implying that the vaccines don't work. They do. We know they do. They also prevent you know... death.
An attorney from the conservative Great Lakes Justice Center just said the state is mandating vaccines. It is not.
