Shouto walks over to the dorm couches, two glasses of iced tea in hand. When he gets to Izuku he offers the cool drink. When Izuku looks up he gasps “Todoroki!! You’re the actual literal best!! It’s so hot today” the let’s out a little whine

And it was hot and of course, the electricity in the dorm was down thanks to Kaminari trying to get a stuck crumpet out of the toaster with a fork.

Just as he passes the glass over, he sends forth a chill, crystallising the glass with ice

Izuku squeals in delight “Todoroki!!!! Amazing!! So amazing!!”

Shout I’d heart is going wild, a stallion trampling thunderous beats in his chest. He steams a little in his collar but thankfully Izuku doesn’t notice, too busy moaning over his delicious drink.

So Shouto turns and speed walks straight out of the common room and marches his emotionally constipated butt straight to Shinsou’s room, takes a breath and calmly knocks.

The purple haired teen opens the door with a grunt “come in quick, the hallways are warmer than my room, if I loose any cool I will lose my cool”

Shouto looks at him in confusion making the other boy laugh a snort.

“How can I help you Todo?”

Shouto straight to the point, blurts out “I need you to brainwash me into being able to confess to Midoriya”

Shinsou blinks then turns and walks to his bed, sitting with a slump “alright, can you like” he waves his arm around “cool my room a bit? It’s hard to nap in the heat”

“Oh sure” Shouto let’s out as much cool as he can without giving anyone frostbite, Shinsou on the bed sighs in delight. “Now then why can’t you confess yourself, why do you need help?”

Shouto sits at the desk and sighs “I get all jittery, my heart beats super fast and I think my tongue swells, maybe I have an allergic response to confessing”

Shinsou snorts another laugh “ok go on”

“Well I try talking but I can’t get the words out. I’m pretty useless with emotions…”

“Well can you say it to me? It will help with the brainwashing”

“Oh right yeah. Well I can’t say it how I’d say it to him… that’s too embarrassing, I might set on fire”

Shinsou sits up and dramatically interrupts “Oh don’t do that, I like this temperature now!”

“Well I really like him, he’s kind and sweet and he’s got pretty freckles and I think his eyes might have hypnotised me at some point because I get lost when I stare into them-

-it makes me wonder if he’s not All Mights love child, I need to see which pro hero’s hypnotise. Because he has to have a heroic dad, he’s so brave and selfless”

“Hmmm” Shinsou sits up, fiddling with his phone “ok well that’s got it. That was everything I needed”

Shouto sits up straighter “ok I’m ready.” But when the other teen gets a shit eating grin, a strange feeling settles in his stomach, like an unknown dread bubbling up.

A frantic knocking disrupts them before he can comment. And Shinsou gets up, grabs Shouto’s arm and pulls him out of the chair “That’s for you, thanks for cooling my room, go talk in the hall and try not to let the hot air in”

Shouto is obviously hideously confused, pushing back a little as he’s gently shoved towards the door and abruptly ejected from the room.

Izuku is standing there, red as a strawberry

Must be from the heat thinks Shouto, so he lets out more cool air making the teen move closer.

“I- I” Shouto stammers, still not knowing what the hell is going on

Izuku smiles all coy making him swoon “Todoroki ummm you know asking Shinsou to help you like that is against the rules… misuse of quirks and all that”

Shouto’s soul leaves his body but Izuku continues
“Still… I’m glad you went to him, otherwise how would I have gotten such a beautiful confession”

Shouto can’t decide if he wants to hug or kill Shinsou. That’s what he was doing on his phone.

“So he recorded me and sent it to you”

“Umm y-yes”

“Right”

And now they’re both stood like idiots. Neither knowing what to say next. So of course they both blurt things out at the same time.

“Can I take you on a date Midoriya!”—“I really like you too Todoroki”

And then they both gasp at the same time. But Izuku bravely steps forward putting his fingertips over Shouto’s mouth “I’d love to go on a date with you”

His lips curl up into a small smile underneath fingers.

So he quickly turns and knocks on Shinsou’s door and shouts through the wood “thank you… also I hate you”

A muffled “no problem” is returned from the room.

And in a moment of bravery he reaches forward, lacing his fingers with Izuku’s

“Let’s go for ice creams”

And Izuku does that cute little squeal again but this time he ignores the thundering horses and the two walk off, ready to go have a sweet afternoon
