#OakFire (#Midpines, Mariposa Co) - From the community meeting: 15,603 acres, 0% contained. Day 1: within 3-4 hours it had moved from Hwy 140/Carstens to Carter Rd & Triangle Rd. Couldn't attack w/ resources on hand, had to protect a large number of structures instead.
#OakFire (#Midpines, Mariposa Co) - Reiterated their good progress made on the western side along Hwy 140, having direct line in from the origin, down 140 & around the S/W edge to Triangle Rd. They're also feeling much more confident about the south side of the fire as a whole.
#OakFire (#Midpines, Mariposa Co) - Still doing a lot of structure defense in Lushmeadows & fire remains established in Snow Creek. They wanted to hold Footman Ridge, lots of resources are in there & are in a hard fought battle on the eastern side of the fire.
#OakFire (#Midpines, Mariposa Co) - @ 11am today the fire made a run towards Bear Clover Ln. They sent in more resources & were able to hold the fire @ Bear Clover Ln. There is a lot of lot of work remaining there but they do have lots of resources in there too.
#OakFire (#Midpines, Mariposa Co) - Still very active @ the northern end of fire. #FergusonFire burn scar will slow it down & It's giving them time to get line in there. Fire is burning already in that scar so it's not stopping it completely, work still has to be done.
#OakFire (#Midpines, Mariposa Co) - Additions: 2 mile spot fires early on. Some minor injuries, nothing major - they praised people for evacuating. Damage inspection team arrived yesterday & hope to have info out tomorrow - the 2 person team was out there today gathering data.
