Influencer marketing is 1 of my TOP priorities in 2022

Don't believe me?

Last week we reached out to 200+ influencers on TikTok... and this week I'm reaching out to 200 more 😳

Here’s the step-by-step playbook I'm using to ramp up a profitable influencer marketing program 🧵👇
Please if you find any of this information valuable, Like and RT the first Tweet. 🙏

In fact, reply to the thread with what you found most insightful or if you have any questions, I am happy to answer!
First off, shout out @JoshJDurham who is an absolute rockstar when it comes to Influencer Marketing.

@rabahrahil and I got a chance to chat with him on this week's episode of AdSpend, which I'll link at the end of this thread!

Anyways, here we go. 👇
1) Start With a Single Channel Then Expand.

For us, we're taking advantage of TikTok because unless you've been living under a rock, it's on its way to becoming the largest Social Media platform of all time.

Influencers are being created every day on TikTok.
2a) Nail Down a Discovery Plan

How are you going to find influencers with an audience that will resonate with your brand or product?

For us we are taking advantage of hashtags.

- #Haircare
- #Skincare
- #Weightloss
- #HairlossTips
- #HealthySmoothies

The list is endless.
2b) Explore These Hashtags

Find videos and content creators that you think would make sense for your brand.

Don't overthink this.

This is a numbers game.

The more creators you reach out to, the higher chance you'll have of someone reaching back out to you with interest.
3) Grab Their Contact Email

Most creators will have their email in their bio.

If they don't, they usually link to IG and you can find an email there.

If they don't have an email anywhere, move on.
4) Stay Organized

Personally, we like to use Google Sheets but @JoshJDurham has some great tips on how to stay organized in the POD.

We add every influencer's name, handle, email, and followers to a sheet.
5a) Prepare an Outreach Message

This message could make or break you.

Just like sending emails to your customers, this message has to be perfectly crafted to elicit a response.

Shoutout to @shrayvj for helping me on my messaging.

My message goes something like... 👇
5b)

- Introduce Myself
- How I Found Their Account
- About Our Company
- Ask To Send Gift With 0 Strings Attached

Now up until here is what most people are doing nowadays.

Here is where I've added a little 🔥👇
5c) I Am VERY Transparent With My Plans

-bI tell the creator I want to establish a long-term PAID relationship.

- I want to invest heavily into whitelisting which is beneficial for them and my brand.

- I am willing to invest $10,000 additional marketing budget for them.
5d) Yes I understand not everyone can allocate $10,000 towards creators but that's not the point.

The point here is to offer AS MUCH VALUE as possible to the creator so that they want to learn and talk further with you.

You can't get anywhere if they don't respond. 👀
6) Aim For a 10% to 15% Response Rate.

If no one's answering your emails, adjust your outreach message.

It's simple as that.

We've been lucky enough to reach an 18% response rate with our message.

Out of 200 emails sent around 35-40 have responded wanting to learn more.
7) If you are lucky enough and receive a response to accept a gift...

Create the most insane experience and give it to them.

Custom packaging, handwritten notes, the works!

If you are able to nail this, some of these creators may end up posting for free.
8) Negotiation.

Here is where it get's tricky but exciting.

Assuming the creator likes your brand and wants to move forward, this is where you have to communicate what deliverables you want from them.

Put together a plan and budget and negotiate accordingly.
To be honest, this is as far as we have gotten but we have heard back from some pretty big creators who love our product.

I am talking to creators with anywhere from 500k to 2m followers and establishing what a partnership between us and them looks like.
Why is Influencer Marketing such an important channel?

We go over it in depth on the latest @triplewhale episode with @JoshJDurham and @rabahrahil!

Fact: It is single-handedly the most important channel to explore.

Should you or should you not be using exclusions in your ads? 🤔

What's my take?

It depends. 😜

Boring answer I know. But hear me out.

Here are the scenarios where I think you should and should not be using exclusions. 👇🧵

Fav & RT if you found this valuable!
By the way, @rabahrahil and I got to chat with a rockstar media buyer @jordanrmenard who is managing 7-8 figure budgets!

If you want to hear his take and what he's doing to spend that much, check out our latest @triplewhale POD here! 👇

1a/ I have an unorthodox approach to retargeting.

I don't use it for sequential messaging like most.

I.E You come to the website, leave, then you see an ad for 10% OFF.

I use it to showcase Retail Efforts and to promote our FB Group.

I am not looking for an immediate ROI.

From October 2022 till now we successfully dropped our CAC by 55%. 📉

What did we do?

We focused on 3 core things.

📝 Landing Pages
📸 Creatives
💰 Offers

What do I think really moved the needle?

✅ Landing Pages.

Here is what we did. 👇
Since the inception of Obvi, we used 1 landing page and made 0 changes to it.

We relied solely on FB knowing who our target customer was and sending us people who were ready to buy.

❌We Were Complacent.

Little did we know the actual impact that the iOS update would have.
What iOS 14 did to FB basically forced marketers to become actual marketers.

Now more than ever, ads are doing the targeting. 🎯

FB isn't going to send you customers with ease as it once did.

The best ads will call out your TARGET consumer and get them to your website.

🚨 Ad costs are rising. You can't control that. 🚨

But how can you combat this? Increase your AOV. ✅

How do you increase your AOV?

Here are 5️⃣ things we did to boost our AOV by 12%!

🧵THREAD🧵

RT if you ❤️ high AOV's!
1a) Create Value-Driven Bundles

Our top-selling product is our Collagen Fat Burner which sells for $34.99

People want to try the product so they only buy 1 bottle.

Give them an option to buy more & save more.

Instead of buying 1, buy 3 to save $15!

Here's how we position it!
1b) Note, take a look at the design.

We designed the buy box to make the bundle the absolute clear choice.

You'd be stupid to not take advantage of the offer!

Play into the psychology aspect of it.
