Rote learning Tables is a MUST to understand Math concepts...
Chess & other such games/sports has both Rote & Concept.. because its not you alone.. theres an opponent too that makes moves that require you to adjust a rote-learned move..
Yesterday I saw a monkey correctly pointing to numbers on a computer screen from 1 to 9.. the monkey memorises it instantly even when the numbers are displayed for a moment and then masked .. thats Rote learning... @DrlathaC

Brainless politicians, teachers & the edu community in India have MISLED parents & students that all "Rote learning is bad".. No it is not.. Rote learning is the first step to education & understanding concepts.. Facts can be memorised, Concepts cannot..
