Today is August 1, 2022. We begin “Phase 2” of our weight loss challenge #WLC today. Is anyone willing to go on this journey with me? It’s going to be 30 days of PURE HELL. It’s going to SUCK. But WE will lose AT LEAST 20 pounds each. I’ll post my progress every morning.
A brief background. Phase 1 ran from March 01 until June 30, 2022. I lost 60 pounds in those 120 days. Then I took the month of July off from the plan. As you might expect, I began to slide backwards, gaining 6lbs in July. We begin “Phase 2” today, at 238.6 pounds.
Our goal for August 31, 2022: 218lb - 215lb, (but certainly sub 220). Warning: This plan is a “Black-Trunks-Mike-Tyson” plan. You going to need white skinless/boneless chicken breast, Pico de gallo & 15,000 steps per day.
Get mean!
“Yeah, ok…” You balk, “ThePanic, but what’s the plan?” A: I just told you. One (1) chicken breast per day with as much pico de gallo on top, as you want. Have that meal between 12p and 2p.
But you ask: what about sugars or carbs or snacks or booze or beer?
A: No.
You’re gonna need water… Lots and lots of water. If you’ve got a treadmill to help you get in your 15,000 steps per day, “Great!” otherwise, hit the road, Jack. 8 miles a day. LETS GO!
I’m drinking between 100-116.5 oz of water (6-7 bottles) during 1 episode of Perry Mason on the treadmill at 3.3 speed.
I follow that up with this :15min low-impact cardio workout from HASFit, designed to burn calories.
The workout and the treadmill “supercharge” the weight loss but they’re only about 20%-25% of my weight loss program. The 75%-80% IS the reduction in calorie-intake. You cannot “workout your way” to weight loss. Stop eating!
The most important thing in loosing weight, when you’re getting started, is not to overdo it. People wanna “go hard” exercising on day-1. but you a run great risk of injuring yourself and then you’re not doing anything but sitting around, eating w/ a bad knee or back. Go slow.
I would even say as you could skip the exercise portion for the first few days if you’re focused on NOT EATING. One meal a day will get you more results than working out hard every time. But if you choose to work out GO EASY. Do low impact stuff to get your heart rate up.
Final tip for the day: Weigh yourself first thing in the morning, EVERY morning, as soon as you get out of bed, after peeing. WRITE DOWN your result. In BLACK if you’ve lost any weight (even .2lbs). In RED, if you’ve gained any weight.

Notes: huge loss yesterday. Actually pretty typical of a Day 1 loss. Don’t expect that sort of loss every (any other) day. But take the W - Use that good feeling to drive today’s loss. DO NOT trick yourself into thinking you’ve earned a break. #WLC

During previous recessions, your ancestors were shade tree mechanics. Let’s do an oil change on the dog-transport.
Ramps, oil drain pan, 17mm socket and Oil filter wrench plus $43 worth of supplies; $30 for 5qts of 0W20 and $13 for oil filter. 1hr max. 🤞
Step 1 locate and remove the oil cap from top side of the engine. I place mine on the hood latch, so I don’t forget put it back.
Step 2 - using a 17 mm socket on this 2014 Honda Odyssey, I remove the oil drain plug with an oil drain pan positioned underneath so as to catch the draining oil. Feels good to get your hands dirty. Once oil has full drained, I screw drain plug back in to a torque spec: 29 ft lbs
