10 Slack tips guaranteed to improve your productivity and team communication today:
1/ Set automatic reminders for yourself or others in your organization. Use the format → /remind [@.someone or #channel] [what] [when]
2/ Have something to tell a colleague that doesn’t require a meeting but is too much to type out? Create an audio note to share updates asynchronously.
3/ Create personalized emoji. This one is fun to personalize your Slack experience and engage with your co-workers.
4/ The built-in gif integration is one of my favorite features. Just type /giphy [description of gif you want]
5/ Connect with Google Calendar to create meetings, respond to invites, and get reminders for each meeting or task on your calendar. This also updates your status so other people know you’re in a meeting.
6/ Integrate with your project management tool, like Asana, for reminders on tasks and due dates or to update and create tasks.
7/ Create sidebar sections to organize your channels so you can find important channels, conversations and notifications more easily.
8/ Mute channels with lots of notifications that don't apply to you. Or you can set up your notifications to only ping you when you’re directly mentioned with an @.
9/ Keep your status updated to avoid leaving your team members on read. If you’re heading to an appointment or in focused work time, create a status update so others know you might not be responsive.
10/ Save, star or pin important messages so you can easily access them later
Barbara Gardner Proctor got fired from her job and had only $1,000 left to her name.

The best part about this list is that it's not just "thought leaders." It's a diverse group of people, not just users with 1000s of followers. twitter.com/i/lists/127120…
