1./ Would you like to read a brilliant takedown of second rate science? I love when a researcher digs deep into someone else's work and finds glaring flaws. That's what Michael Biggs has just done with the most recent work by the awful Jack Turban. So what's the truth?
1 of /12.
2./ Puberty blocker promoter Turban is a darling of the US woke media who've rushed to embrace his latest paper because it claims there is no trans 'social contagion'. But Turban's claim turns out to be based on a wilful misreading of his own evidence.
nbcnews.com/nbc-out/out-he…
3./ Turban argued in his paper in @aap_peds that it's a myth more girls are identifying as trans. But the only way to be sure of this is if the trans kids who answer the question “what sex are you” describe themselves using biological sex. But what if they don't?
4./ Turban claims “several studies have found that trans youth are likely to understand ‘sex’ to be sex assigned at birth.” But when Biggs analysed the three articles Turban cited he found they actually failed to support Turban’s assertion. That’s devastating.
5./ Biggs also details many other eminent studies that confirmed what we all know that many more girls are now identifying as trans than boys. Turban's paper is so anomolous it better have fantastic evidence. Instead it's cobbled together like something from Blue Peter.
6./ Biggs went back to the original source Turban used, the CDC survey of Schools, and discovered in many states a proportion of kids who said they were trans, refused to answer the question about sex. So Turban's claim about proportion of males to females is null and void.
7./ Then Biggs turned to other data in the Survey that Turban ignored. Take height. "Transgender respondents who identified as male were on average 2.5 cm shorter than non-transgender male respondents". Why does this matter? Natal females are shorter on average than natal males.
8./ There was though no discernible height difference between transgender respondents who identified as female and non-transgender female respondents. This is surely evidence some of the transgender respondents who identified themselves as male were natal females.
9./ Michael Biggs's conclusion is suitably barbed: "No conclusion about the sex ratio of transgender youth can be drawn from this survey. The article does, however, provide considerable insight into the editorial standards maintained by Pediatrics." Amen to that.
10./ The comment about editorial standards was added after they rejected his letter ..within an hour. Children's health no longer seems to be an overriding concern of this Pediatrics journal. Go figure. Biggs describes Turban's work as incredible. It's not a compliment.
11./ Jack Turban’s unfailing record of poor research, overhyped claims and deceptive use of evidence continues. One day hopefully he'll be held to account for it. In the meantime you can read Michael Biggs’s full letter here.👇

1./ Monkeypox madness gets even madder.
Three days ago Pink News gave advice about attending Pride. Notice anything strange? Only that the article appeared FOUR weeks after the biggest UK Pride in London where a million people crammed into the capital.🤦
pinknews.co.uk/2022/08/02/mon…
2./ It would have more useful for @teozka to deliver this advice in July. Shame neither he nor PN call out @PrideInLondon for its failure to follow @UKHSA guidelines. They were told to warn those with monkeypox symptoms not to attend, but didn't bother. gov.uk/guidance/monke…
3./ When an unpredictable virus gains access for the first time to a new group of people the sensible response is to crack down on transmission as quickly as possible. Instead muppets like Pink News and @teozka fiddled while the virus burned through our community.

1./ Jack Turban - the puberty blocker pusher- is back. Yesterday, he revealed a new paper which makes grand claims. But once again none of his claims hold up. Turban is rapidly becoming the king of damp squibs. Here's why this latest paper is his biggest, dampest squib so far. 👇
2./ You may remember Jack claimed he’d proved puberty blockers save lives. They don't. His paper on blockers was full of flaws. For one, it was based on a survey run by an agitprop trans rights lobby group that recruited through activist “networks”.👇
3./ The paper also failed to emphasise young people who obtained puberty blockers were screened for mental health issues so it was no surprise they had fewer suicidal thoughts than those who hadn’t been given them. Pink News and the usual suspects.. literally ..ignored that fact.

1./ The Tavistock and the idiocy of Jolyon Maugham and Benjamin Cohen. Endocrinologist @will_malone points out a crucial finding that contributed to the Tavi's closure: its failure to research properly the risks of puberty blockers. So what did Jolyon and Benjy say?👇
1 of/13.
2./ Two years ago Jolyon mocked the ONLY animal trials ever conducted into puberty blockers (in 2017). He ridiculed the fact they were supervised by an expert on veterinary medicine. As are all animal trials Jolyon, duhh. He then went further in an outrageous smear. Image
3./ He implied that Professor Evans's work could be discounted because it was later quoted by a Christian outfit with which Evans has nothing to do. Benjamin Cohen's lying rag Pink news then picked up the baton, scorning @KLBfax for quoting the animal trial in her case 👇 Image

1./ Should you worry about Drag Queen Story Time? Supporters like Stella Creasy claim drag queens are just like pantomime dames. It's nothing new, apparently. So what's really the agenda behind forcing kids to listen to men in dresses read stories?
dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1…
2./ First, remember the last time a drag queen reading to kids hit the UK headlines? Parents were furious when images of their primary one school kids were uploaded onto the drag queen's sexualised instagram site. Mmm, not exactly very pantomime.👇 Image
3./ You'd have thought the drag queen's name was a give away but no one seemed to think of checking Flo Job's instagram site. It was parents who later discovered their 5 year old's faces peering out beside images like this. 👇 Image

1./ I TOLD YOU SO. Pink News just published a piece suggesting gay men should maybe fuck around less while there's a new virus in town (mostly affecting gay men). A quick reminder of what they used to say and yes there's some good science incoming! 1of/11
pinknews.co.uk/2022/07/25/mon…
2./ Less than 2 months ago -and with 1700 fewer gay men infected with a potentially disabling virus- the owner of Pink News slammed @ALLIANCELGB for suggesting commercial sex venues should be closed for a month. He called it a vile anti-gay trope. Has he apologised? Does he ever?
3./ The call for brief closures was intended to SLOW transmission in order to give time for vaccine production and distribution to build. This is now the same reason being suggested by Pink News for gay guys in open relationships to close them temporarily. Shurely shome mishtake?

1./ Is the LGBTQ+ lobby fit for purpose? If it's not erasing women's rights or promoting puberty blockers... #Stonewall messes with the minds of 2 year olds.👇
But perhaps it's the response to monkeypox which has best revealed the lobby's malign idiocy.
dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1…
2./ The LGBTQ+ lobby's approach to monkeypox has been marked by all its trademark flaws: bullying groupthink, a bizarre inability to face facts and utter complacency about risks. These have contributed to monkeypox now being declared a global emergency.👇
theguardian.com/world/2022/jul…
3./ For years the LGBTQ+ lobby assured us it understood risks, whether it was of puberty blockers or trans access to women's spaces. That always seemed unlikely. After all, it denied anything happened at WiSpa right up until the alleged perp was charged.
