It’s primary night again! 4️⃣ states are heading to the polls:
• Connecticut
• Vermont
• Wisconsin
• Minnesota
Women will take a step towards a historic milestone. Plus, Minnesota could show us if a pro-choice backlash is really growing.
Here are the key storylines to watch:
Wisconsin Democrats are set to pick Lt. Governor Mandela Barnes to face Sen. Ron Johnson.
Johnson is slightly favored given the national environment. But polls show Barnes — a progressive who would be the state's first Black senator — with a small early lead.
Wisconsin Republicans will pick their nominee for governor — and the winner could impact 2024.
Trump endorsed businessman Tim Michels; Pence is backing former Lt. Gov. Rebecca Kleefisch. Both deny the 2020 election results. The winner will face Gov. Tony Evers in a tossup race.
Vermont, the only state that has not yet elected a woman to Congress, is going to take a big step today.
State senator Becca Balint and Lt. Gov. Molly Gray are facing off in the Democratic primary for the state's open House seat — either is almost guaranteed to win in November.
Minnesotans are voting in a special election for a vacant House seat, #MN01.
Trump won the seat by 10 points in 2020 so Brad Finstad (R) is favored over Jeffrey Ettinger (D). But after Kansas's big pro-choice victory, the race could offer clues about Democrats' enthusiasm.
Far-right election denier Kim Crockett is favored to win the GOP nomination for Minnesota Secretary of State, the latest pro-conspiracy Republican seeking to oversee voting.
Last week she wondered aloud if some people should be barred from voting:

Child actress Jennette McCurdy in her first on-camera interview about her memoir, ‘I’m Glad My Mom Died’:
“Anybody that has experienced parental abuse understands this title… I wouldn’t have written the book if my mom were alive. I would still have my identity dictated by her.”
Child actress Jennette McCurdy on coping with the death of her abusive mother:
“I felt like she didn’t deserve my tears and my sadness since she was abusive … Now it feels like I’m able to just miss her … because of the healing that happened through the writing of the book.”
In her memoir, Jennette McCurdy also alleges Nickelodeon offered her $300,000 in “hush money” in exchange for staying silent about her experiences working with a man she refers to as “The Creator.” vanityfair.com/hollywood/2022…
"This isn't about anything that I've done ... This is Orwellian Thought Police, where I'm being punished for not enforcing laws that are not even on the books yet."
— State Atty @AndrewWarrenFL, who Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) removed in an authoritarian executive order this week
ICYMI, our thread on DeSantis' Executive Order of Suspension. Warren was suspended for signing on to value statements saying he would not prosecute cases around the 15-week abortion ban and against professionals who provide gender-affirming care
More @AndrewWarrenFL on Gov. DeSantis suspending him, despite being voted in by the people: "For the past 2 years we've heard nearly half of America baselessly complaining about a stolen election. Do you want to see an election was actually stolen? Look no further [than me]."
It’s primary night again. Voters in 5️⃣ states are heading to the polls:
• Arizona
• Kansas
• Michigan
• Missouri
• Washington
The stakes are high for pro-impeachment Republicans. Plus, Kansas will make a huge decision on abortion.
Here are the key storylines to watch. 🧵
Arizona Republicans could nominate far-right election deniers in nearly all top races.
Donald Trump has backed Big Lie-endorsers for Senate (Blake Masters), governor (Kari Lake), and Secretary of State (Mark Finchem) — and all three have led in Republican primary polls.
All three races are tossups in the general election and the stakes are high this November:
Arizona's new governor will oversee the 2024 election, while the outcome of its Senate race may decide overall control of the Senate — and impact Sen. Sinema's primary race in two years.
“If this is America First, then America is fucked.”
Take 10 minutes to watch Jon Stewart tear into Republicans for blocking a Senate bill providing benefits to veterans, including for those exposed to burn pits.
Jon Stewart calls out Senate Republicans for supporting the “War Machine” but voting against veteran benefits:
“Boy, they haven’t met a war they won’t sign up for, and they haven’t met a veteran they won’t screw over.”
25 Republican senators who previously supported the bill to provide benefits to veterans declined to move it forward.
